Nestled in a large, charming, historic cape located in an idealistic neighborhood, this ~1,000 sq ft private quiet basement apartment is the perfect place for travelers looking for comfortable, luxurious accommodations. 35 minutes to downtown Chicago, 30 minutes to Dunes National Park, moments away from shopping and outdoor recreation, you will not find a more comfortable, inviting stay in the area. You'll enter the house via a shared entrance with a smartlock into the sunroom on the back of the house. A few steps lead to the stairs to your private downstairs apartment. You have a kitchenette with a small fridge, microwave, toaster oven and coffee maker. The kitchen on the main floor is available if you're in the mood to cook up a storm. Available on request; steamer, insta-pot, blender, mixer, juicer, coffee grinder, waffle iron, crock pots, espresso maker, soda stream. Your apartment has just been extensively renovated with all new features, furniture and décor. New 55" TV, super fast internet, high end linens and initial toiletries provided. The yellow couch folds into a full-sized bed; there is also a twin air mattress available. ****NOTE- WHILE CHILDREN AND INFANTS ARE WELCOMED, THIS SPACE IS NOT SPECIFICALLY CHILDPROOFED **** The house is large and quiet. We are generally at work all day and I travel a lot for a living. We're often home in the evening but are pretty calm and the house stays peaceful and quiet. I am always available via text for any questions you may have, and someone is usually home in the evening if you need anything. There is a sliding accordion door with privacy lock at the top of the stairs leading to your space. LONGER TERM GUESTS- the house shared laundry is in the basement; we will coordinate arrangements ahead of time if we need to do laundry so you feel comfortable in your space and know that your privacy is respected. On street parking in a safe, quiet neighborhood. I'm newer to the area but can give occasional guidance regarding destinations and attractions. I'm quite and generally keep to myself, but an occasional visit and glass of wine can be nice. I travel quite a bit for work but can be available via text; my son Christian is often home in the evenings if anything is needed in person. PLEASE NOTE- your apartment is your own separate, private space, but does require use of a shared entrance. Also, the laundry room is located off your apartment- we may coordinate a time to do laundry, especially if you have a longer term stay.
