Knickerbocker - Burdett House B&B

This bedroom features deep teal blue walls, a queen sized cast iron bed, vintage crystal chandelier, vanity, custom upholstered easy chair and and en-suite bath with custom tiled shower. The bedroom also has a private veranda that faces eastbound and overlooks the front of the house. Please note that there is a small dog (Aussiedoodle named Hudson) on the premises that doesn't have access to guestrooms (downstairs only). Our home is a Queen Anne Victorian that was built in 1880. The house has many of the original details including pocket doors, stained glass windows, hand carved wood staircase and hardwood trims, moldings and hardwood floors. Guests are welcome to use the refrigerator in our guest pantry to store items, the living room which has a TV with a DVD player with a selection of movies (in addition to the in room smart TV) . Guests can also feel free to use the dining room or any of the lounge spaces to play cards or games. You will have plenty of your own guests space but we are available and ready to help with whatever is needed or requested. We live in the country but you'll never be bored! Right here in the village of Burdett we are within walking distance to Berta's Cafe which serves Breakfast and Lunch, Smokin' Bones BBQ that serves dinner Wednesday through Sunday and the Olde H&E bar which has sports on the TV, a pool table and beers and cocktails served late into the night. Or drive five minutes down the road to Watkins Glen to enjoy the water front and a wider selection of restaurants and shops. By car is the best way to get around the area however if you don't have a car, it's possible to take a bus to Ithaca and get a taxi to the house. From there you can go between Burdett and Watkins Glen via a local transit bus (Bus runs weekdays only). Plenty of parking is available in front of the house via street parking and our parking lot. We provide a 2 course hot and homemade breakfast that also includes coffee, orange juice, water and tea.
