Zaagi'idiwin Cottage Lodge

Zaagi'idiwin means Love and Spring in Anishinaabemowin, the language of the Ojibwa, Odawa, and Potawatami Peoples. Zaagi'idiwin Cottage Lodge is work inprogress and unfinished. She is a quaint, cozy cabin tucked on the southern shore on a calm little cove of 188 acre all-sports and all-seasons Pratt Lake in Gladwin County. My hope is that Zaagi'idiwin Cottage provides adventurous and outdoorsy individuals and couples with a renewal of spirit and connection to northern Michigan's forest and lakes Zaagi'idiwin Cottage is a bilevel cabin with separate upper level with open floor plan eat in kitchen and living room with books, games, and tv/dvd player with upper deck over looking the southern cove of Pratt Lake. The upper and lower levels are under renovation, but will eventually be connected to upper level with interior spiral stairs, and lower level will have galley kitchen, open floor plan with English Pub style rec room and a bedroom. Entire upper level, deck, docks, yard, and 188 acre lake including a public beach on northshore. I have been an outdoor educator and naturalist for 10 years, if guests want a guide and natural history interpreter for a fun and educational nature walk, bike, hike, kayak trip, astronomy tour of the night sky, or macro-invertebrate sampling ... just ask, I may be available, especially in the summer months and most weekends! Zaagi'idwin Cottage Lodge is adjacent to Snyder Resort which was a set of (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) s little seasonal vacation cabins rented out by Tiny Snyder. There were several vacation resorts and cabins on Pratt Lake dating back to the (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) s when Edward Pratt walked to Bay City to stake a claim on the lake. Much of the lake is still seasonal cabins, with only maybe a dozen year round residents. The small 188 acre lake is very friendly, and comes alive in the Summer with 4th of July fireworks displays to rival even city displays. Generations of families have been building strong traditions, relationships, and connections with nature for over a hundred years on this lake and you feel it as you start exploring the lake. Gladwin County has the Gladwin Transit Authority with Dial-a-ride buses that are only $3 a person and will come and pick you up anywhere in the County, and take you where you need to go. This cabin is definitely not for people who want the comforts and bland sterility of a hotel. This is listed as a private room, as I may be staying in the lower level with my 2 friendly little dogs Frieda and Eli, however 90% chance I will be down in Saginaw at my family's 5th generation Farm.
