For $5 you can enter the state park 2 miles down the road and enjoy a sandy beach. During Covid the State Park is requiring a day ahead reservation to enter the park. Fifteen minutes away is quaint Valley View square with Restaurants, wine tasting, shopping, and whiskey distillery. Or, head north on I35 for 30 minutes into Oklahoma and visit the Winstar casino. For the first two years they would come on the cooler months and camp in a tent on the weekends and cook over a fire. After two years of camping they purchase a small trailer and it was parked down under the awning where you see the tractor now. That camper lasted them for another two years of weekends here.
