Peaceful Haven
Do you want to get away from it all, change your surroundings and recharge yourself mentally and physically? Welcome to the Peaceful Haven. We are experienced hosts (and travelers!) who fell in love with this adorable Gothic Revival style cottage in Irvington, and now we are very excited to share it with you! It is a unique cottage nestled in a 2-acre park-like setting, up the hill from Carter's Creek. Open kitchen, dining and living areas are located on a main entry level (our cozy sun room makes you feel like you are in a tree-house), Master bedroom and bathroom - on an upper level, and two more bedrooms and bathrooms - on a lower level. The entire house is yours to enjoy. Please, enjoy your total privacy. I live just a couple of cottages away, so I will be available if you ever need anything. Irvington is a small and friendly town. Just three hours from Washington, D.C., and 90 minutes from Richmond and Norfolk, the town that George Washington called the "Garden of Virginia" still serves as a quiet getaway from the city. There is no public transportation to bring you to town, so you will need a car. You will also need it if you want to explore the nearby towns, parks and beaches. However, it is easy to walk to pretty much everything in Irvington. (Website hidden by Airbnb) Shops and restaurants of the lovely historic Village of Irvington are just a couple of minutes away. You can also buy fresh seafood, meat and produce in local grocery shops and farms and cook in our well-equipped kitchen and on a grill. Rent a boat for fun or fishing. Play golf at the famous local Golden Eagle course. Hike in beautiful parks or hang out on small sandy beaches of the area. Rent a bike and ride around the meadows or to town. Or just sink into the comfy couch in the evening and enjoy a movie on our smart TV... ***Please, take a look at our Guidebook (under "More about location" tab) to find lots of things to do in Irvington and surrounding areas.
