Historic Stone Cottage on Cazenovia Lake.
Located in the the heart of Cazenovia, New York. This rental is a totally private extension to the house and offers lake access, where you can enjoy kayaking, fishing, swimming and all water sports. You will be within walking distance to a lovely park, the historic village, Cazenovia College, great restaurants, shopping and more! Your room is spacious with a queen bed, decorated with antiques that match the era of this historic house. There is a small refrigerator, microwave and Keurig for your morning coffee on the patio or by the lake. You'll have access to a private porch in a courtyard. There is not a kitchen but I have partnered with the Brea Loch Inn, across the street for you to have their continental breakfast for $7 per person. I have a small dog and two COVID cats. Please be aware if you have allergies. Your room is located in the house but is completely separate from the main house. You have two private entrances and one is to your own porch in a courtyard. There is guest parking in the driveway. Look for the brick parking space beneath the address sign. There is an free EV hookup in the park next door. When you arrive after parking, walk around the back of the house and on your left you will see the path to your room. You will be given your personal access code to unlock the door when we connect before your arrival. During this pandemic time you can have complete privacy should you want it. We will follow all health and safety guidelines in effect currently. I would like to greet you personally but am available to you by phone and text throughout your stay. Feel free to contact me anytime. Cazenovia is a mystical and magical town. It’s history dates back to the eighteenth century. Many of the original buildings, including the one you’re going to stay in, still exist. This house was built in 1860 and was originally a law office. Cazenovia is a place in history where abolitionists met. The underground railway had homes here. And, the national women’s movement began in nearby Seneca Falls. This area of the country is rich with great historic significance. Cazenovia is about a half an hour south of Syracuse, New York. If you’re coming from out of state, fly into Syracuse Hancock Airport. The Stone Cottage is located in the heart of Cazenovia. You will be in easy walking distance to the town, parks, the lake, restaurants, great shops, a bank and pharmacy. Anything you need is a few blocks away. There are many wonderful things to do here here in Cazenovia. This area is a great horse center and many exciting events take place. Also, for the outdoorsy-people, there are amazing hikes, trails, waterfalls and bike rides. The spring is an easy time to enjoy these outdoor activities. You can relax in the she shed even if your not a she! Summer is time to enjoy the lake. There is a dock with canoe and kayak for you. Here you can swim, fish or explore the lake and the park next door. The fall is our most spectacular season. The leaves start turning in September and reach their peak in mid October. In my driveway is an enormous ginkgo tree. It has been known to drop all its leaves on Halloween Eve. A local farmers market runs every Saturday morning from spring through October, and it is just up the street from your lodging. In the winter explore nearby skiing, sleigh rides and ice skating. We have plenty of snow to play in. This town loves the holidays and dresses up for Christmas. The Lorenzo Mansion is decked out and open for all to enjoy. Limitations and Rules There is a narrow pathway to the lake 16 feet wide. (Follow the stone wall) The lake front is also 16 feet. I share close proximity to my neighbors. Please be respectful. Outdoor night time activities must end at 10pm. This rental is not set up for children. There is a one or two person - two night minimum. If an additional person is staying the night there is a $50 fee per night. Only guests are allowed at the lakefront. If you are expecting company please check with me first. Dogs -I do welcome dogs. Two small dogs or one large one. They must be kept on a leash at all times.
