Enjoy the Colorado Rocky Mountains at an affordable price. Our setting provides the perfect solo set up to work remotely while being surrounded by nature, peace and quiet. We provide a newly built ultra clean and well insulated small space designed for one person occupancy. It has electric heat, a wood stove, cooking stove, glacier water and good Internet. We are close to amazing skiing/snow-showing, hiking, backpacking and biking terrain. Please read FULL listing prior to booking. Think of our listing as a super cozy well-designed newly built small space specifically designed for a one person occupancy. The space is not a storage shed made with toxic particle board. It is a 16 ft by 8 ft studio built as a living space using aspen wood. Just a place to get away from any big city. The space is surrounded on one side by our creek that has water year round and on the other side by our house. The other two sides look at an aspen grove. If you are looking for a space that feels like in the middle of nowhere, our space will not meet your needs. Bears and coyotes do walk by the tiny house at night though. We are located at 9,250 ft of elevation, five minutes away from the amazing Indian Peaks Wilderness Area, 40-minute drive to Rocky Mountain National Park and 25-minute drive to Eldora Skiing Resort. Please note that we are located in the Colorado Rocky Mountains. Literally. This means that we get a lot of snow in the winter (November - April). When visiting us in the winter time, it is 100% your responsibility to come prepared for winter and check the weather frequently. It is also your responsibility to make sure that you have the right type of transportation/type of vehicle for our winter conditions. Our space provides for a peaceful solo time to relax, read, write, journal, have a glass of wine or whatever else you do to decompress. Our tiny space is located on an aspen grove by the main house. We have solid Internet should you require to be online. From November through May, please bring warm clothing. We live at altitude and we have strong winters. A wood-stove puts heat out but not enough to be in shorts and flip-flops. There is an electric heater available to keep the base space temperature at 60F. Any desired heat above 60F must be achieved via the wood-stove. You have access to a full size fridge located in our main house to share with one other person. There is also a cooler if you rather have your groceries close by. A communal shower is also available in the main house. The space uses an outdoor toilet located 100 ft or so away from the tiny house. The space has four electric outlets to charge your electronic devices. It has a new memory foam 12" thick Twin Denver Mattress as a bed. The kitchen has everything you need to cook breakfast & dinner. Please know that you are responsible for bringing your own food/tea/coffee, etc. We provide all the water for your cooking/drinking needs. Unlike bottled water, our water truly comes from a real glacier. We, the hosts, live in the main house but are rarely there because we work all the time. We know the area extremely well. Should you require guidance or just advice as to the best hikes/terrain, we are happy to help you out. If you are here with the intention to be left alone, that is exactly what we designed the space for. Please know that the space uses an outdoor toilet. Absolutely no tobacco smoking inside or outside the premises. Please note that our reservation policy is strict. If you decide to change your plans during your reservation, we will not be processing any refunds. Please familiarize yourself with Airbnb's strict reservation policy. Please note that in the past we used to not have a security deposit in place. Unfortunately we had a poor experience with an irresponsible guest. As such, we currently have a $500 security deposit in place. If you are the type of guest who is mindful, responsible and takes care of spaces, this deposit should not affect you at all whatsoever. Thank you so much for taking the time to read our listing description in full. Guests will be able to use a full size fridge located in the main house. The fridge is shared with only one other person. A very nice shower is available as well. We live at the base of some amazing wilderness. If you are looking for nature, glaciar lakes, mountains and wildlife our location will not disappoint you. We offer all the commodities of urban living without concrete, asphalt and tons of people. You can work remotely while going on hikes after work on some gorgeous terrain. We truly love where we live. The tiny home is surrounded by aspens, a creek and lots of fresh air. You need your own vehicle. Our area is not serviced by public transportation or Uber. In the winter months, it is 100% your responsibility to check for weather conditions. Usually, driving in the mountains of Colorado in the winter requires an AWD car, a 4WD car or a 2WD car with studded winter tires (if you are a proficient driver in winter conditions) . We are not responsible for checking the weather on your behalf. We live at 9,250 ft of elevation in the Colorado Rocky Mountains. Our weather has frequent storms. You are responsible for knowing the weather at all times. We think this is a very unique opportunity to work remotely from a very safe and unique space. We just finished building the space. As such everything is clean and mold-free. We are super respectful hosts. You'll have your own space while still being able to take a nice hot shower. Our location is very unique and full of nature. We very much appreciate if you are the type of person who DOES NOT believe that the Coronavirus is a real treat to NOT book with us. One of us almost died with the virus. We take the pandemic extremely serious. If you are not the type of person to wear a mask in public, please find a different accommodation. We put a lot of effort in cleaning which means we don't want the added risk please. While you are inside our home to take a shower, we do require use of a face mask at all times regardless of vaccination status. Please note that from November to April, the main source of heat in the space is a wood-stove. We bought a Cubic Mini Grizzly if you want to research the model. If you are not attentive to detail, our space won't work for your needs. Heating with wood requires a lot of attention to detail and a desire to slow down. Improper wood-stove operation will lead to a house fire. We provide all the firewood for your needs. Both of us (hosts) are firefighters. As such, we take wood-stove operation very seriously. Please note that you have to walk to the portable toilet in inclement weather. The portable toilet is located about 25 yards from the studio. You will need a flashlight to use the portable toilet at night. Please note that the kitchen has pots and pans, salt and pepper. You are responsible to bring along whatever you need to cook your meals. Please note that tobacco smoking is NOT allowed anywhere in the property. Cannabis smoking only outside the studio. The space is built with a one person occupancy in mind.
