Escape to the Hill Country

Enjoy a peaceful getaway in the heart of the Texas Hill Country. Serene, private, pure country living just 5 minutes to downtown Llano. This is a "barndominium" style large studio built into the side of a large barn set back off the highway and with nothing to see but wide open space, oak trees, and cattle. If you are looking to get away for some quiet time to enjoy nature, you will love our little getaway. Grill up some steak on the patio, watch the sunset over the hills, and listen to the coyotes sing you to sleep. There is no wifi (gasp!) or cable but you can watch dvd movies on the flat screen TV, read a book under the shade of an ancient oak, or hike the slab in search of crystals. There is a full kitchen in the unit as well as a propane grill out back. There is also a full RV hookup if you want to park your in-laws next door. The studio has a queen Murphey bed, a trundle bed with two twins, refrigerator, range, microwave, flat screen TV, heat/A/C, two ceiling fans, radio/CD player, shower, furnished towels and linens and toiletries, and coffee. Historic Llano is just a short drive into town where you can go antiquing, wine tasting, listen to live music, fish the river or even rent a kayak. A perfect writer's or artist's retreat, you will love your time at Rock Ridge Ranch. We live on the property but about 1/4 mile away so you will have the space all to yourself. You can stroll the property, comune with the cows, skip rocks in the pond, just please stay away from the private residents. We're here if you need us but otherwise, you will have the time to yourself. Ahhhh. We are located just outside the city limits of Llano and are within 50 miles of numerous wineries, lakes, and places to shop. 7 miles from Llano, 50 miles from Fredricksburg, 70 miles from Austin. There is no smoking allowed in the studio or around the ranch. Smoking is allowed only on the back patio. Well behaved dogs are welcome but may not be left unattended or off leash.
