Muddy River Resort

Come stay at our recently remodeled place in the beautiful Spruce Creek area. You will be less than 400 yards from the Mighty Mississippi River and approximately 2 miles from downtown Bellevue. Relax in the over 2000 sq ft house with full kitchen, jacuzzi tub, tv, internet, ping pong table, outdoor grill, picnic table and fire pit or head outside for some adventure. Bring your boat, kayak, paddle board or canoe to explore the river or check out our charming red, white and blue little town. The house is stocked with basic cookware, dishes, towels, bedding and pillows. Full size fridge, dishwasher, gas stove, microwave, toaster, keurig, washer and dryer in house. We can have ice available to you upon request. There is an outdoor grill (direct gas line-no propane tank needed) and fire pit in the back yard with a picnic table. Ramp entrance at the front, no stairs in the house. Dining table seats 6 with additional counter top seating for 5. Master has a king size bed and private bathroom with a shower and jacuzzi tub. If you are just renting the house for two guests we will assume you are sharing the master and the additional bedrooms and bathroom with not be available. Those will be opened when booking for additional people. Add a third guest for 2 beds/2 baths, a fourth guest for 3 bedrooms. There is a futon in one of the rooms with bedding and a queen sized air mattress available upon request/if booking for extra guests. There are two TV's with cable and free internet. The boat ramp is less than 400 yards away if you are bringing a boat. Transient docks available on a first come first serve basis. Chestnut Mountain (snow skiing in the winter, alpine slide and chair lifts in the summer) is just a boat ride across the river but if you want to get to Galena by car you will have to go around through Dubuque to cross the bridge. There is an excellent restaurant within walking distance in Spruce Creek as well as other great options in town. Local grocery store, pharmacy, brewery, welcome center and several shops downtown. There is a children's play park in the campground within walking distance from the house as well. Justin and I live in Bellevue and are happy to do whatever we can to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. Bellevue has been named as having one of the "Best Mississippi Riverfronts" by the "Mississippi Valley Traveler". Our town has 2100 residents that take great pride in where we live. You'll find friendly locals and small town shops and restaurants that are eager to make you feel at home. Winter, spring, summer or fall are all great times to come stay with us! Town is approximately 2 miles from Spruce Creek. It's a quick drive or a nice walk or bike ride via the bike trail that connects the edge of Spruce Creek all the way through town and up to our State Park where you'll find an amazing overlook of our city and lock and dam.
