River-by Cottage

River-by Cottage provides a pleasant escape from everyday stress. It is located along the historic Staunton Turnpike in an area of WV that can include day trips to ski, river raft, train trips, etc. It is also located one & a half miles from WV Wesleyan College. River-by Cottage has a view of the Buckhannon River but is NOT "on the river." Come stay a bit as all are welcome in our cottage! If you would like to spend just ONE weekend night, please contact us & we will accommodate if possible. The guests have full use of River-by Cottage. There is only one bedroom with a queen bed. Please do not ask to bring more than two people or a blow up mattress as that is not permitted. Our cottage and grounds are also smoke free. Guests cannot check in early or leave late unless they have prior approval by the host. The couch is not for sleeping. This property is for a maximum of two adults. We are always available by phone or text and will greet guests upon arrival. River-by Cottage is located in the city limits of Buckhannon and yet has a country feel and privacy. It is in an area where there are three additional dwellings but very much away from everyday hustle and bustle. It is accompanied by an additional sixty acres and it is not uncommon to see deer and turkeys from the porch. River-by is centrally located and very accessible to the historic Staunton Turnpike, railroad trips in the next town, and within driving distance of both downhill and cross country skiing. Local river rafting is found near Audra State Park. The best way to get from point A to point B is by car. Biking is also possible. At this time there is no TV in the cottage. We have unlimited access to the Internet and a monitor is provided if the guests would like to "bluetooth" Amazon Prime, Netflix, etc. to the monitor by downloading the (Hidden by Airbnb) Chromecast app on their phone. We are not interested in long term leases. We cater to those folks who are traveling through the area, parents of WVWC students, or to business travelers who might stay no longer than nine nights.
