Southern Alberta is host to an eclectic mix of interests and things to do! There is something for everyone. Most often this area is known for its access to its quiet and pristine nature. If the idea of a National Park conjures up images of never-ending lines of cars and way too many tourists, you have got to see and experience Waterton! Nestled between the mountains and Waterton Lakes, Waterton Village is an idyllic scene of people strolling down the street, ice cream in hand, observing the resident deer from a distance. If hiking or biking are your thing, the village serves as a base to several trails. Waterton boasts many hiking trails from easy to hard in difficulty, and 30 minutes to 3 days in length. Beyond Waterton there are hours and hours of wilderness exploring to be done. Your hosts will gladly point you to trails and lakes within the vicinity to help satisfy your outdoor needs. If you like live theatre and music, both Waterton and nearby Cardston will provide you many options. As hosts we will gladly procure requested tickets to ensure you are able to attend the performances of your choice. The local and imported talent is amazing and sure to please! Southern Alberta has so much to offer in the way of history. From the Cardston Temple to Head-Smashed-In Buffalo Jump to Frank Slide and more, there is enough to please any history buff. Again, we would love to help in any way to point you in the right direction if history is your thing. The closest international airports are Calgary International and Great Falls, Montana. Each is about 2.5-3 hours from the guest house. If you come through Great Falls, you will be required to cross into Canada through a smaller border crossing meaning rarely will there be much of a delay. We have ample parking on our premises. Price includes GST and the Alberta Tax Levy. The guest house is located next door to The Barnstore that provides gasoline, a small convenience store, delicious hard ice cream, as well as locally produced clothing. The next largest grocery store is found in Cardston, about 20 minutes away. If there are any particular needs that you may have, we will gladly help you find a source or have it here waiting when you arrive. Wij spreken Nederlands (niet volmaakt maar genoeg om u to hulpen). Nous parlons une petite petite peu Francais!
