Victorian farmhouse decor throughout. Filled with antiques to keep with its original charm. It has modern updates but plenty of old style character. Please note this is a vintage home that is full of the charms of a historic classic home however if you are needing a home that is totally modern this would not be a place you would enjoy. La Veta is a wonderful small town please be aware there is only one grocery store. Hours 8:00am - 5:00pm Sundays, 7:00am - 7:00pm rest of the week. You'll have access to a full gourmet kitchen complete with dishes, pots, pans, serving dishes/utensils, and appliances. (We have a few basic ingredients on hand like salt, pepper and spices. There's a dining table with room for +8 people. The backyard is private with plenty of dining areas complete with gas grill for outdoor cookouts. Game room with a cabinet full of activities/games to fill a night with laughter and fun! Exercise room - with treadmill - elliptical trainer - free weights - yoga mat - large screen TV with view of backyard - 2/3 bathroom located by exercise room. (no one under 18 allowed not childproof or safe for children) The house sits on a ¼ or an acre next to the Cucharas River with plenty of area to enjoy a good book, relax at the base of the Spanish Peaks or enjoy a cup of coffee on the front porch. Guest will have access to many areas of the home with the exception of the garage. We have an Apple-equipped 55” TV (you can access with your own sign in) Hulu is provided. Enjoy movie night with over 100 dvd’s provided for your pleasure. Feel free to use anything in the home... just please be respectful. Our home is for you to privately enjoy. Walsenburg 15 miles Safeway or First Choice Market Coffee Shop - Paradise Coffee Aly's Restaurant - great gourmet meal Ryus Ave Bakery - bakery and lunch Whether you want to explore nearby Cuchara, Trinidad, Stonewall, Alamosa or use the house as your launching point for other adventures, you will love this gorgeous location. Opportunities for hiking, biking, horseback riding, fishing, cross country skiing, a train ride and more are all close by. North Lake, Bear Lake and Monument Lake are just a few miles away. Climb the East or West Spanish Peak for a nearby mountain hike. Classic Colorado sites like the Royal Gorge, Arkansas River, Great Sand Dunes National Park, the Spanish Peaks, several 14ers, Bishop Castle, Salida, Monarch Mountain skiing, Taos, and many more attractions are all within 1-3 hours' drive from the house. We ask that all guests be respectful of our home and treat it like you would want someone to treat your own. Please just let us know if you need to replace or repair an item and we will work it out.
