Shallow Lake Retreat

The Shallow Lake Retreat is located by Shallow Lake, McNabb Grey Sauble Conservation Authority Area, 15 minutes driving distance away from the beautiful 2nd largest fresh water beach Sauble Beach, 1 hour drive to Fathom Five National Park in Tobermory and 1 hour from Blue Mountains. All of the home is an open atmosphere for you to enjoy like your home away from home. We are available by phone or messages through Airbnb anytime during your stay. Shallow Lake had its earliest beginnings in 1862 but did not begin to take form until around 1877 when a post office and general store were built. In 1888 the Shallow Lake cement works began to process local marl and clay to form Portland cement through until 1913. This formed the industrial heart of the Village which now includes Shouldice Designer Stone and SPI Industries. Getting around this area it’s best to have a vehicle of your own/rented. You can bring your Atv’s, bicycles, kayaks, snowmobiles, paddle boards, canoes and everything else that you may want to take out for an adventure to explore this beautiful area.
