Charming Cape Cottage in Chatham (Vacation Safe)

Forest Sands cottage is comfortably decorated in Classic Cape style, a 2 minute walk from Forest Beach, and 10 minute spectacular walk through the dunes to Cockle Cove. Two bedrooms, two baths (one an outdoor shower), with pull-out sofa in family room (sleep six). The quaint interior has TV, DVD, VCR players, Central air conditioning, Hi-Speed internet, and local phone service. Washer/ drier and charcoal grill, and bicycles are in the garage. Easy access (1/8 mile) to the Old Colony Rail Trail between Chatham and Dennis, which joins the Cape Cod Rail trail to Wellfleet. A 5-minute drive to Red River Beach and 10 minutes to charming shops and restaurants in Chatham Town Center. Other local features include restaurants and theaters such as The Dennis Playhouse, Cape Melody Tent, Ohio State Players, and the Harwich Junior Theater. Visit the Chatham Airport for charter rides, The Chatham Train Museum, ice cream shops, the Cape Cod National Sea Shore nature preserve, Whale-watching, Monomoy Island seal cruises, and fast-ferry day cruises to Nantucket. Charter fishing boats operate nearby. Take a stroll through shopping streets of town to Chatham Light. Chatham is one of New England's most beautiful locales, and its unique location on the Cape surrounds it with water, harbors, dunes and sandbars on three sides. A fantastic place to visit, on-season or off-season. Covid-19: We value the health and safety of all of our customers seriously, and have created a "spacing" schedule on our calendar, doing our very best to space our listings from 3-5 days apart between each guest, to give time for airing and cleaning. At the time of your booking we will ask you if you prefer this arrangement, before accepting other bookings that are closer in time to your booking. We also offer "self-check in" using the keyless lock on the side entry door, so that you can open the house and settle in - we will only meet you on arrival if you request it. We would also like to assure our visitors that we are implementing the following deep cleaning procedures in between stays: • Using sanitary wipes on all door knobs, cabinet handles, light and appliance switches, remote controls, sink and shower handles, window shade edges and pulls. • Airing out entire house for 3-5 days and hanging out blankets and bed coverings in sun whenever possible. • Washing all bed-linens, sheets and towels in super-hot water, drying in hot drier. • We provide complimentary wipes and hand sanitizer. Please take a moment to consider these important special conditions for your health and safety while at the Cottage: DURING YOUR STAY: • Please note that the Commonwealth of Massachusetts now requires visitors from many states to file a “Travel Order” form with the MA State Dept. of Health. Please go to www.mass.gov/info-details/covid-19-travel-order to see if you are from an exempted State, and to file. • Also, the State and the Town of Chatham require that “face covering” be worn in public places or when “social distancing” of 6’ or more is not possible. Beach Parking stickers may be purchased online at: www.chatham-ma.gov/ • We especially request that you limit the number of people present while you are at the house to your immediate group or family only, and that you not invite additional persons to visit the house or grounds, so please, no picnics, bar-b-cues, or parties. • We are also requesting that you limit the number of vehicles parked in the driveway to no more than 3, and refrain from street parking, especially overnight. BEFORE YOUR DEPARTURE: • Please strip all beds, and place bed linens and towels in washing machine (in the garage) with detergent, set dial to “regular” cycle/ “hot” water, and pull to run. Please leave second or third loads in the hamper. Thanks! • Please place all household trash in black garbage bags (provided), and recyclable materials in blue or clear ones (provided). Bags are under the kitchen sink. Gather all together by metal trash can in the garage - we are happy to take it from there. Safe trip home!
