Coral Door Cottage with Lake Access
Cozy cottage in Wilberforce on half acre property - so much room for activities! Fully equipped kitchen, large dining table, living room, two bedrooms, and a full washroom with claw foot tub. BBQ on the side porch, bonfire pit in front yard, and private dock across the road on Wilbermere Lake with canoe! A public beach area is also nearby. Perfect city getaway, only 2.5 hours from Toronto and 3 hours from Ottawa. Located in Haliburton County and only 25 minutes from Haliburton & Bancroft. The bedrooms are small - you're at the cottage, go outside! The master bedroom has a queen sized bed, the second bedroom has a bunk bed with a double mattress on the bottom, and a twin mattress on the top. BEDDING IS NOT SUPPLIED, please bring your sheets, blankets/duvets, and pillows. The Cottage is on well water and has a septic tank. The well water is filtered and safe for drinking. There is a propane BBQ on the porch for your use and all the BBQ tools inside the cottage. The large bonfire pit in the front yard is great for outdoor cooking, and marshmallow roasting. FIREWOOD IS NOT PROVIDED, but can be purchased in Wilberforce at either the Foodland or Agnew's general store. Please check and follow any fire restrictions - the fire station has a sign out front. A key-less entry pad is on the door for easy check-in and check-out. Times are flexible, just ask if you need special accommodations. There is a canoe on site for guest use with two paddles and life jackets. Bring your kayaks or unicorn floaties to enjoy the gorgeous lake. There is a boat launch on Wilbermere Lake if you have your own motor boat. Please see other details for further info regarding the dock access. You'll have full access to the cottage, including the private dock on Wilbermere Lake. The only thing off limits is one small closet where I store personal items. An extensive collection of classic board games are on site. This is my home away from home, please leave it as you found it. If needed, I can be reached through Airbnb. In the event that something needs to be tended to immediately, I'm nearby. The town of Wilberforce is a short (2-3 mins) drive down the road. The town offers all the essentials: Foodland grocery store, LCBO, Agnew's general store with Kawartha Dairy ice cream, diner with pizza oven, Royal Canadian Legion, pharmacy, gas station, library, medical centre, fire hall, arena, tennis & basketball courts, and baseball diamond. For shopping, additional restaurants, or further exploration, Haliburton or Bancroft are only about a twenty minute drive away. You will need a vehicle to get to and from the cottage. The nearest public transportation stop is in Haliburton via Can-Ar Coach. The cottage is on a B-highway with an 80 km/h speed limit. Traffic is intermittent and you can safely cross to the dock or swimming area quite easily. Please note that you'll need to go over a guard rail and down a small, steep hill to access the dock. The access to my dock is a little tricky and not suitable for kids or anyone with reduced mobility. The public swimming area is very close by if you prefer to walk into the water. Children will need to be accompanied by an adult at all times. I love furry friends, but pets are not permitted, please leave them with a friend. Towels, bedding, and pillows are NOT provided. Please bring bedding or sleeping bags, along with swimming and washroom towels. Due to the high iron content of the lake, staining is possible. To avoid any disappointment, do not bring any light coloured towels or swimsuits with you. A bath mat, hand towel, kitchen towels and dish cloth are provided. The living room has a small TV with DVD player, along with a few DVDs and HDMI cable to connect your laptop, if desired. There is no cable or satellite TV on site. Cell phone service is limited. This is my home away from home, please treat it with respect and leave it as you found it.
