This ninety year old Adobe home has lots of charm and unique touches throughout keeping it true to its form with a few modern touches. Adobe is mud bricks made from the dirt right here in Marfa. It has stood the test of time and keeps the home cool in those blistering hot months and warm in the freezing cold ones. We’re committed to providing squeaky clean, comfortable living quarters for every stay! We’re opted-in to Airbnb’s advanced protocol for dutiful cleaning. We want you to rest assure that you can relax in comfort without worrying about germs on touch surfaces. We’re going above and beyond to make sure house is cleaned thoroughly between each guest. WIFI: Very fast fiber WiFi for streaming multiple users at once. Easily work from home if you have to! KITCHEN: Fully equipped kitchen to cook or just make cocktails. Full refrigerator with freezer ready to be stocked with home-cooked meals. Ice trays provided in freezer. Several pots and pans to cook most dishes. Plates, bowls and lots of glassware. Spoons, forks, knives and all sorts of assorted utensils are provided. There are two coffee pots: one automatic and one French press. Ground coffee is always stocked. We kept the original cabinets and bar top built by the original owners probably some fifty odd years ago. Lots of great stories have been told over the bar top. We traded out the big stove for a smaller half sized stove to allow more space in the kitchen. The half stove still has four burners and a medium size baking oven. There is no vent over the stove so we ask to please not cook with frying grease. The window opens to allow ventilation when things are getting hot in the kitchen or open the side door. There is a fire extinguisher located on shelf in laundry room. To avoid lingering kitchen smells you can open the front and back doors and turn the fan on. We keep some incense in the laundry room shelf. There are a total of two bedrooms with four comfortable sleeping arrangements: MASTER BEDROOM: The master bedroom has one queen size bed, two bed side tables, a large TV, a standing mirror and walk-in closet with robe, extra fan and ironing board. The door way into the master bedroom shows how thick the adobe bricks are keeping things cool in the summer and warm in the winter. The back room is private even with a curtain door. GUEST ROOM: The second bedroom has two twin beds, one bed side table (centered between the two), one chair for sitting and a medium closet with a fan, robe for lounging and hangers for your clothes. We kept the original bed frames and gave them new life. The two windows are covered with delicate white shades and shear curtains allowing the light to fill the room when its time to wake. New mattresses and foam toppers have been added to all three beds. Four hundred-thread count cotton sheets and duvet covers as well. AC/HEAT: The house has Central Air for cool air in the summer and heat in the winter. The house is made of adobe mud which keeps the house at cool temps in the summer and warm in the winter. Extremely comfortable temps! You can keep the house ice cold or hot if you need. We’ve also just added a H13 HEPA filtered Air Purifier. OUTSIDE: Light the fire pit and live in or out! There are four wooden outdoor chairs for lounging by the fire pit. Or enjoy your meals outside on the metal table with four matching chairs under a string lit ambiance. Pop open the umbrella for shade in the summer. Enjoy reading a book in one of the hammocks under a cedar pergola in the backyard or on the front porch. And thanks to Covid Pandemic Quarantine we now have a fully fenced in yard! Very Private and relaxing! FRONT PORCH: Enjoy your margaritas in the evenings on the front porch while rocking away in the cast iron chairs. Fall asleep in the hammock forgetting about all those emails you need to send. BATHROOM: The bathroom is cozy with walk-in shower. Toilet and vanity of course! In the vanity you will find some extras in case you forgot. In the wicker drawers you’ll find a blow-dryer as well. Let me know if there is any bathroom amenities you need and I’ll be happy to pick some up at the store for you. We try to keep it stocked however. PETS: We love pets! In fact we have recently closed in the yard for privacy and to allow your pets to roam. However, we ask that you please do not allow pets dig up yard. Please pick up after your pets as well. We want every stay to be extremely clean and that takes a lot of work! Especially if you have a long fur pet. They can leave fur everywhere! PLEASE, do not allow pets on sofa. If you must sleep with your pet we ask that you put a throw down. We want everyone to be comfortable so please help us keep things clean after your pet. It’s extremely hard to gauge which pets will require more cleaning so as of 9/21/2020 we will be requiring guests pay a cleaning fee of $25 PER PET NO EXCEPTIONS. TWO PETS MAXIMUM. Our fee will go straight to our cleaning staff to ensure that each guest will receive the same standard of cleanliness. We appreciate your cooperation and honesty in helping us with this. Please let us know about your pets. Walk into town, and have a nightcap at the Capri, El Cosmico, St. George, Judd Foundation, Downtown, or Lost Horse Saloon for a cold beer or into town for Chinati Fest events, or come when just the bunnies are here! Centrally located right in the heart of EVERYTHING!! Leave your car and walk! This darling casita will be a comfortable landing pad for the Marfa explorer with a minimum two night stay on the weekends.
