Now with Level 2 EV charging. This mid-century home was built by my dad in 1967. The property is nestled almost in the woods so it’s very peaceful and relaxing. In October of 2020 I used the lower level to create a fun space to stay. It contains some mid-century pieces of furniture which gives it a bit of a Jetsons feel. While staying you can peruse through and play my record collection. The space which was at one time my childhood playroom, is very cozy with some mid-century pieces. During the daytime it’s got just the right amount of daylight and warmly lit at night. It’s located in a very quiet peaceful area and almost in the woods. A massive record collection that you can play on a Technics SL-1200MKE turntable. Take walks on the winding country road. Walking distance to the high school where you can run on the state of the art track and use the tennis courts when not in use by students. A great place to stay if you just need to have some time away from the city to unwind. Guest have access to the deck, the gardens and yard. I love giving tours of my property through the flower gardens and pointing out places to visit. If requested I can light up a fire in the fire pit and make hot chocolate. I have lots of stories to tell including my life in the clubs in NYC, living in NYC, growing up in this home and some of the incredible history of this area. I can recommend great restaurants to eat at. Just text me or call me during your stay if you need any ideas of places to go. Located close to many of the Hudson Valley gilded age estates, the Culinary Institute of America, the Dutchess Country Fair, The Walkway over the Hudson, lots of bike and walking trails. 15 minutes from the Omega Institute. Take day trips to the Catskills or Shawangunk mountains. There are many festivals that take place in the area such as The Sheep and Wool Festival, The Hudson Valley Hot Air Balloon Festival, The Wine and Food Festival, and many many more. Visit the incredible restaurants and shops in Rhinebeck just minutes away. Least i forget you will be staying in the home town of Franklin Delano Roosevelt and Frederick William Vanderbilt. 15 minutes from both the Poughkeepsie Metro North Train station and the Rhinebeck Amtrak Train station. Located close to many of the Hudson Valley gilded age estates, the Culinary Institute of America, The Walkway over the Hudson, and lots of bike and walking trails. 30 minutes or less from Vassar College, Marist College, Bard College and the Culinary Institute of America. It is best to have a car when staying here because this is a rural area and access to restaurants etc are all at least 5 miles away, unless you plan to just stay here to play records and enjoy gardens. There are trains that serve the area and they are about a 15 minute drive to my home. If using Metro North the stop is Poughkeepsie and if using Amtrak the stop is Rhinecliff. You can take an Uber from the train or if you prearrange with me, I can pick you up and drop you off at the train for modest fee. I can even drive you around the area for a modest fee if prearranged with me. The space is located on the lower level of the house. Note that I do allow pets and I have two cats living upstairs so because they are nocturnal you may here the pitter patter of little feet. The cats are indoor cats and they have no interaction with the guests. There are a number of smart device features controlled with Alexa. The thermostat, lights and the lock can be controlled right from the comfort of your bed. For network aTV and cable channels there is YouTube TV I include the following items: K-cup pods Half and Half Assorted Teas Sugar packets Bottled water Seltzer Yogurt I follow Airbnb’s five-step enhanced cleaning process, which is based on Airbnb’s cleaning handbook that was developed in partnership with experts. Here are a few highlights: I sanitize high-touch surfaces, down to the doorknob I use cleaners and disinfectants approved by global health agencies, and I wear protective gear to help prevent cross-contamination I refer to cleaning checklists to thoroughly clean each room I provide extra cleaning supplies, so you can clean as you stay I comply with local laws, including any additional safety or cleaning guidelines.
