Switch into vacation mode as you step onto the hardwood floors in the great room and sink into one of 2 comfortable leather couches. Start your day with a hot cup of coffee on the outside deck and let the soothing sounds of birds chirping gently wake you up. When you get hungry, walk back into the great room and prepare breakfast in the fully equipped corner kitchen. Set the table for 8 and make plans for the day over a delicious meal. The window-lined great room is the center point of the entire cottage and boasts a tall vaulted ceiling and plenty of exposed wooden accents. If you have any work to get finished before the lake, the desk behind the couch is an ideal temporary office! There are boats as well as boat slips available for rent at the Port Bay Marina, and plenty of places for picturesque picnics on the shoreline. When you're not on the lake, explore the over 190 acres of trail-filled land near the cottage. If you're a golf enthusiast, drive just over a mile to the Port Bay Golf Course. This beautiful 18-hole course is one of the better public courses in the area and boasts gorgeous forest and lake views. Two other local options are the Sodus Bay Heights Golf Club and the Springbrook Greens State Golf Club if you're looking for a change of scenery! There are a variety of vineyards dispersed throughout the area south of the cottage. The Colloca Estate Winery is located 9 miles from the cottage and offers over 103 acres of bountiful land, a lovely view of the Little Sodus Bay, and a tasting room. Some other vineyards worth exploring in the area include Ventosa, Casa Larga, Thorpe vineyards, and more. Drive 18 minutes to Chimney Bluffs State Park and explore these unique rock formations on the coast of the lake. Fair Haven State Park and the Belhurst Castle are two other fun places to explore with your family. Other fun ways to spend your days include attending the Sterling Renaissance Festival in the summer and driving to Sodus Point or Fair Haven Bay.
