Unique historic home, built in 1858, featured on Racine's "Tour of Historic Places 2019." Original brick and wood, custom built-in's, two story sun room...lots of character! Very kid friendly. Downtown Racine and Lake Michigan are both just 5 blocks walking distance. Shopping, dining, running paths, the harbor, hunting sea glass...all right there. Racine's North Beach (ranked as a Top 5 "Best Freshwater Beach" by voters in the USA Today Readers' Choice program) is 2 miles away away. Entire home open to you, large dining room, fully stocked kitchen, leather couches in the living room, washer and dryer available for use in basement. We clean and sanitize with Norwex which means no harsh chemicals that can bother asthma-sufferers. Sheets, duvets and towels are all laundered with free and clear detergent. The house is in walking distance to lake and shops. North Beach and Zoo beach are the prime spots for swimming, just two-miles away. Happy to give you great recommendations for local restaurants in Racine or our favorites in Milwaukee, 35 minutes away. Most common feedback we receive is that the home is... - very kid friendly (plenty of toys and other kid items available like changing table, pack-n-play, etc) - historic house with character! out of the ordinary, fun to look around, interesting artifacts from the history of the house out for viewing - comfortable and relaxing, we go out of our way to make sure you have what you need :) Available in the house: Hair dryer Iron and ironing board Fans and space heaters for bedrooms Coffee pot Coffee, Cream and sugar Fully stocked kitchen (utensils, pots and pans, spices and oils, etc) Crock pot Shampoo, body wash Pack-n-play Child’s high chair (booster style with belt) Children’s toys Board games Beach toys Beach blanket, cooler and towels Plenty more, ask for what you might need! Our house has a small front yard with porch and a backyard with patio. The backyard has kids toys and sandbox. There is a chicken coup which is currently empty, but we plan to have chickens again by summer 2021. They won't lay eggs til fall or later. But still are very fun for kids. We are available anytime via text, and happy to pop over to help as needed with any concerns. If we are out of town we will provide a trusted friend who can be available to you. Racine is a diverse city and our neighborhood is no exception. If diverse neighborhoods are not what you’re used to and you have questions, message us directly. We have a kids park two blocks away. The lakefront is 5 blocks away and a great place to run/bike/stroll. The library, post office, and downtown shops/restaurants are also walking distance. We have lived in the city 10 years and can hook you up with just about any recommendation you might need. We assume you will arrive via car, there is room for three vehicles in our driveway. Bring your bike if you’d like to navigate the city that way. Full bath is located on second floor, half bath on first floor through the bedroom. Front door and backyard security camera for safety. Important: we do not allow smoking of any kind in the house. If we suspect smoking in the house you will be asked to leave. If the house smells of smoke when you leave, you will be charged your full security deposit. We live nearby and keep a close connection to the neighbors. We do not tolerate parties or additional guests coming and going from the house. Thank you for being respectful.
