This immaculate vacation rental is situated in the exclusive Oyster Pond enclave. Its seven acres afford a serene privacy that’s difficult to match, yet is conveniently located a mile off Edgartown-W. Tisbury Road for easy access to downtown Edgartown, and for heading up island. Aptly called the “Dream House” by Architectural Digest, the custom-built home comfortably sleeps eight. This is an upside-down house, with the living room, kitchen and master suite located on the spacious second floor graced by cathedral ceilings and a central cupola. Its flow and energy transport one to a space where time is measured by the arcs of the moon and sun. Two large decks — perfect for morning coffee, sunning, grilling, cocktails, dining, and stargazing — flank the house and overlook the surrounding seven acres of pine, oaks, cedars, spruces, and huckleberry fields. A fully-appointed kitchen also provides a lovely view to the sprawling lawn below for watching playful kids or graceful deer. The first floor spreads out from a custom, curved staircase to three additional bedrooms, a library, a laundry room, and a bathroom with separate double-sink vanity. Enjoy our delicious, recently-installed pH-balanced soft water system that leaves your hair salon-luxurious. Flat panel TVs grace all rooms including the library, which is perfect for an evening children's movie, or as an office (with wireless printer/copier/fax). There is also a kid's corner upstairs with games, puzzles, art supplies and a telescope to explore the night sky. All new high chair, booster seats, safety gate for kids and dogs, and Pack 'n Play are available in addition to kids’ plates, utensils and bibs. The house is stocked with the basics so you can leave room in your car for personal items: linens & bath towels, beach towels & blankets, paper towels, toilet paper, bars of soap, liquid hand soap, shampoo & conditioner, laundry detergent & softener, sponges, food wraps, garbage bags, etc. Seven bikes and helmets of varyiing sizes are provided to tour the island. A bike path is accessible at the head of Oyster Pond Road. Also provided are two Stand Up Paddleboards, lawn games, beach toys, umbrella and a collapsible, large-wheeled beach carry all, as well as a portable cooler with cold packs in the freezer. A 30A EV charger has also been installed. Two kayaks (tandem and single) are available at the boat ramp to the pond, located ~150 yards from the driveway, by which you can access and explore the beauty of the pond and reach the beach. Upon your return (and even better at night under the stars!), a warm outdoor shower beckons. And a firepit, with kindling and split wood awaits with skewers for s’mores to finish a perfect Vineyard day. This beach is also accessible by car only a few minutes away at Long Point Wildlife Refuge, owned by Trustees of Reservations. Due to social distancing measures, passes must be purchased in advance. on www.thetrustees.org. They are made available weekly on Wednesdays.
