Catskill Gem Farmhouse: cosy with Hot tub
Charming & Cosy Catskills Farm House w/hot tub, close to Bethel Woods, Callicoon
We are extremely concerned about the current Covid19 pandemic and want to ensure that we are taking every pre-caution to keep our house clean and germ free. Between leaving the house empty for 1 day before and after guests stay, cleaning thoroughly, and making sure the house has time to breathe before guests come and stay, we hope you enjoy our wonderful farm house. We also hope you take pre-cautions and wipe down surfaces, faucets, light switches, and any other highly frequented areas daily. We also absolutely do not allow guests outside of who will be staying at the house. We hope you understand and comply. So many people describe our house as: cosy, charming, happy, a feeling of contentedness, security, familiarity, comfort, reassurance, kinship, and simplicity, in other words, Hygge, the Scandinavian word for all of these feelings. It's not just one word. It's a feeling or feelings... and our house is exactly Hygge. Absolutely drop dead gorgeous and very private property, yet walking distance to the village of Jeffersonville. A beautiful, well-appointed farm house with gorgeous hard wood floors, lots of character, lightning fast wifi, an eclectic mix of modern and antiques, charming windows and plenty of French doors bringing in plenty of light to each of the rooms, and a new hot tub to keep you entertained on freezing cold nights and days in the winter, evenings in the spring summer, and fall. There will be an agreement for you to read and sign that will say that you will take care of our house and property as if it was your own and that you and your group are fully responsible for yourselves. A cherry red 1959 Chambers stove awaits your culinary expertise. Totally Instagram worthy! The late fall-early spring, you can see the quaint village of Jeffersonville and it gives a nice small town feel. The church steeple in the view, hearing the church bells on Sunday mornings and the historic school perched on top of the hill above town is just so Norman Rockwell and adorable. Last house on a dead end road. Super safe for families with young children, super private for those who want privacy and yet can take a stroll into Jeffersonville and have a bite to eat or stroll through old time America. 3.5 acres, half woods, half lawn. The lawn is very long and perfect for sledding with young children, a round of croquet, Bocce ball, and Corn Hole (all provided for and in the "mudroom") or just lounging in the chaise lounge chairs and catch some sun or wrap up in a cozy outdoor blanket and watch the leaves fall. Speaking of stream, there's a beautiful rustic path down to the stream so you don't have to leave the property to cool down on those hot summer days or to sip your coffee and listen to the water gurgle. Great spot to just let everything go. The path starts near the back porch near the kitchen. A 2 minute walk upstream you'll find a little watering hole where you can do a little swimming. It's not terribly deep, but does the trick. Big kitchen with a beautiful cherry red 1959 Chambers stove and gorgeous enamel kitchen table. Perfect for a foodie, Thanksgiving weekend, and plenty of room to whip up a pie! I love baking and cooking in my kitchen. So much space. Fully stocked kitchen with a lot of pots, pans, baking tins, pie pans, coffee maker and French press, bread making machine, plenty of spices, and of course plates, bowls, glasses, wine glasses, flatware etc. Our butcher block is gorgeous and made from a block from my family's old house, the table is from a restaurant in Livingston Manor after a huge flood took ahold of the town and they were throwing it away so we took it and repurposed it, and the silverware holder attached to the butcher block is made from a cabinet from my family's old house. A real labor of love. You'll love prepping your meals there. The view will sweep you away as it looks out onto the garden, lawn, fruit and fir trees. We have peach and nectarine trees (ripe between late August-early September), blueberries (ripe in early-mid July), and Bosc pears (September). The grove is near the beginning of our property, past the fire-pit, towards the fir trees. And a microwave in the event you want to skip cooking a meal and just want to heat something up. Bosch dishwasher. Washing machine and dryer in the basement. Clothes line drying also available off the back porch for those who like to be eco-friendly. Another beautiful sunroom next to the kitchen, which is used to put shoes, outerwear, etc and is separated by a beautiful set of French Doors. You'll also find a Bocce ball set, corn hole, and croquet to play out in the yard. The sunroom leads to the beautiful rocking chair porch where you can sit and look at the changing leaves on the trees gently blow in the breeze, while drinking your morning coffee and perusing what the possibilities your day looks like.
