Adjoined Stone Cottage Wye Valley (Five Springs)

Self-catering cottage in a small quiet Wye Valley village in in the hills above Monmouth. Set in 6 acres of woodland and hidden gardens. Large bedroom with comfortable king (60") & single bed, lounge with log burner, TV & WiFi. Stunning large spa room with sauna, shower, jacuzzi & small toilet room. Kitchen with induction hob, grill and fan oven, microwave, washing machine, tumble dryer and fridge freezer, separate bathroom with toilet. The cottage is very spacious and could hold many guests however it is configured for two or 3 . The very large spa room holds the double jacuzzi, sauna and shower and so provides a private luxury chill-out area. The large bedroom, lounge, kitchen, hall and toilet all have underfloor heating whereas the spa room has radiators. The modern TV has a built-in DVD player and some DVD's are available to view. We now have fibre to the premises (fttp) so high speed (150MB/S) wi-fi in the lounge. You have the entire cottage which is only linked to the main house via 1 locked door on the upper floor at the end of the corridor by the kitchen. The bedroom and spa areas are on a different (lower) level than the main house. We have 6 acres of mixed woodland, flower meadow and gardens with a stream. The wood is full of bluebells in May. The gardens are teeming with wildlife including woodpeckers, badgers, owls, buzzards and deer. You can be as private or interactive as you like. We love having guests and are on-hand most of the time for helpful advice about trips out etc. but equally respect your privacy so if that is your wish that's also fine. Just let us know if you run out of wood or need something. Whitebrook is a quiet unspoiled valley with the brook running down into the River Wye which lies at the foot of the valley about a mile or so from the house. There are walks everywhere either on the doorstep or further afield in the Forest of Dean or the Brecon Beacons / Black Mountains. Local attractions include Clearwell Caves, The Big Pit (Coal Mining Pit & Museum) and the Wye itself for canoeing etc. See our guidebook for further activities. A map of the local area is provided. There is a bus service (No 65) from Chepstow to New Mills Cross nearby. Taxis are based in Monmouth. The sat-nav takes you to a neighbour up a side road across the other side of the stream. We are at New Mills on the road through the whitebrook valley to the South of the whitebrook river opposite the old ruin (old water mill). The cottage is elevated on a rocky outcrop. Look for the yellow Five Springs sign on the lower gate (if your coming down the valley) or the telegraph pole (if your coming up the valley). We now have hens so there is usually a supply of fresh eggs for a small charge. There is always a pizza in the freezer if you forget to bring supper!
