THE HOME: Located in a gorgeous country setting, with water views of the Glendale Gardens and woodlands, this charming French Country Escape is 20 minutes from the airport, 10 minutes to world famous Butchart Gardens and 15 minutes to downtown Victoria. This idyllic vacation getaway invites you to relax out on your backyard patio, and enjoy the peace of a home away from home. The stunning home is spacious and tastefully decorated. The craftsmanship and beautiful timber beams and accents, create the ambience of West Coast warmth and wonder and everywhere you look, is windows. You will feel the peace and tranquility of the beautiful view and the forest around from every room. The home has phenomenal cooking facilities and is equipped with all the amenities you will need for your stay, with plenty of room for dancing in the kitchen. Curl up with your coffee and good book beside the fireplace after a day of hiking at Goldstream park or zip lining at Wild Play parks (a 10 minute drive away). THE MASTER SUITE: Pamper yourself in the extra deep hydro massage tub in the master suite, and dive into your king bed, satisfied after a great day of adventuring on the West Coast. The spacious Master bedroom, has a lovely king-sized bed, a love-seat and cozy arm chair in your own reading nook, with a private balcony overlooking the backyard and views. With a custom walk in closet, and stunning master en-suite - we can guarantee this will be the favourite room in the house. The Master bathroom has a lovely deep soaker tub, a spacious open shower with rain head, 2 separate sinks and fresh linens. BEDROOMS - Sleeps 8 Master Suite - 1 King Bed Bedroom 2 - 1 Queen Bed Bedroom 3 - 1 Queen bed Bedroom 4 - 1 Queen bed ****Bonus room (available at an extra charge for groups over 8 only) - 2 additional queen beds side by side. THE PATIO & OUTDOOR SPACES Enjoy a glass on wine in the hot tub, or soak up the sun on the lounge chair in the backyard. The gardens and brick patio are a beautiful spot to eat outside. Have kids? They will have a hoot jumping on the the trampoline, playing in the adorable playhouse, or finding the fort while they explore the woods. A 10 minute walk from the French Country Home is the Glendale Gardens and Woodlands, with a beautiful spot for breakfast, called Charlotte and the Quail. Enjoy fabulous organic local fare on their gorgeous garden patio. GUEST ACCESS: The Charming French Country Home has ample parking for 4 vehicles on the right side of the gravel driveway and a private stone entry on the right side of the home under the stone archway. INTERACTION WITH GUESTS: We will be available for recommendations or assistance during your stay, but will give you the utmost privacy and respect. We will give you the instructions for the key once you have confirmed your reservation. OTHER THINGS TO NOTE: The 2 acre property hosts 4 unique spaces, 3 which are open to vacation rental. The main 6,200 sq ft building hosts two 3,100 sq ft custom homes, side by side (duplex style). My parents, Rolf and Sharon, live on the left side of the main building and are the property managers for the other 3 suites. The Chateau has 4 bedrooms, 1 King and 3 queens, and has a recreation room (with 2 extra queens) that we open for more than 8 guests at an additional fee. The home is very private and has its own backyard area, patio. There is also another 1 bedroom suite above my parents home (The Treetop Suite) that can sleep 3 and a small cottage on the lower property that can sleep up to four, ideally 2. ****If you would like to make arrangements to rent the three suites for family gatherings or corporate events, we are open to connect with you to find out if we are the best fit for your event. LOCATION: The French Country Home is tucked away in a rural area (Saanich West) outside the hustle and bustle of the city, yet extremely central to all the main attractions. We are a 2 minute drive from Interurban Camosun College, 5 minute drive from Beaver Lake, 10 minute drive to Butchart Gardens, Goldstream Park and many beautiful beaches, 20 minutes from the ferry and a 12 minute drive to downtown Victoria. VICTORIA: Spend your days touring Centennial Square, Jazz Fest and the fabulous events of the summer season downtown Victoria. Take in all the street performers, talented local artists and incredible musicians on the world famous Inner Harbour and Government Street. Spend your evenings walking along the ocean at Dallas Road and stroll the breakwater to the picture perfect lighthouse, topping off the night with a beer and tappa at one of the amazing restaurants Victoria is famous for. Saturdays, in the late afternoon and evening is a great day to plan to take in the stunning sights at the World Famous Butchart Gardens. Enjoy a dinner in the gardens and a fabulous fireworks display when the sun goes down, all summer long! Bring a blanket to lay on under the stars! Here on a Thursday in the summer? Take a stroll through the quaint town of Sidney (a 15 minute drive away) and take in the largest street market in Victoria!!! A fantastic place to see all the local artisans, hear great music and eat dinner at the food trucks! A favourite night out for sure! Most of the beautiful beaches in the Greater Victoria area are a short 15-20 min drive away. You can also enjoy a beautiful 10km walk around Elk and Beaver Lake, a 5 minute drive away. There are also beautiful walking trails right across the streets and the lovely Horticultural Center of the Pacific. Planning a winter getaway? Victoria is known as the "Hawaii" of Canada, with mild temperatures and a very rare dusting of snow.
