The Red Barn

The Red Barn is a beautiful bespoke holiday home that is filled with light, yet relaxed and cozy. Watch the deer, hear the birds, roast some marshmallows, see the stars. With plenty of room to roam (or maybe just take a nap by the fireplace), it is the perfect antidote to city life.  Our home is located down a quiet private road, overlooking the Catskills and surrounded by pastures and open fields, with the Berkshires and the charming towns of Chatham, Hudson and Lenox all within easy reach. Bedrooms: The house sleeps up to eight people in three bedrooms, all en suite, including a large ground floor bedroom with walk-in closet.  Living: Gather with friends and family in the two large and comfortable living areas. The great room downstairs is bright and open to the kitchen and dining room. The loft area upstairs is perfect for kicking back and watching movies or reading a good book.  Kitchen: Prepare meals in the well-equipped kitchen, with gas range, oven, microwave, fridge/freezer and dishwasher. There is a powder room with full-sized washer and dryer adjacent to the kitchen. Outside: Enjoy the wrap-around deck, perfect for lounging with a morning cup of coffee or dining al fresco. The house sits on nine acres of land with unencumbered views in every direction. The Littles: The house is well-equipped for babies and small children, with amenities including a travel cot, gate, bed guards, step stools and booster seats, as well as children’s dishes and plenty of books and toys.  Things to note: We welcome guests who will show our home love and respect. Please no parties, no smoking, no pets.  Guests have full access to the entire house and surrounding nine acres of property. We do not live locally but will provide contact details for a local property manager who can assist as needed during your stay. As this is a rural location, a car is necessary to get the most out of the area. Please note that the house is located on a private, unpaved road. In the wintertime, all wheel drive is highly recommended.
