Basement Studio For One Guest Quiet and Restful
Sunny and quiet basement apartment with private entrance. My family and I live upstairs, but you will have complete privacy once you have checked in.The apartment is close to the University of Maryland and seven miles from Washington DC, and a short walk to Metro and other public transportation. Our town has tree-lined streets, lovely old homes, and friendly neighbors. Shopping, restaurants, the Beltway and outdoor recreation are minutes away. Guest has use of patio and yard in good weather. The apartment can accommodate only one guest per visit. It was recently renovated keeping in mind the comfort of our guest. You can control the heat in each room in the cold months. There is no Air Conditioning. Generally AC is not necessary in the Spring or early Summer, but July and August might get uncomfortable for some people. A fan is available during those months. The bathroom is just outside the bedroom . The apartment is meticulously clean for each new guest, and is furnished with mid-century modern and traditional furniture and accessories. Walls are painted in neutral gray and blue tones which are calming and easy on the eye. You can access the bedroom through two doors both of which have locks. The kitchenette is a small space with table and chairs, a small sink, microwave and toaster oven. Cooking is limited to re-heating in either of these two appliances. No cooking from scratch permitted. Guest can access the bedroom, bathroom, living room and kitchenette area, but guest does not have access to the laundry area, storage closet and storage cabinets. The use of washer and dryer is not permitted. We will be available to guests as needed. University Park is a small town with our own police force. People are friendly and welcoming, and the quiet streets are perfect for an after dinner walk. Spring is the best time to visit and enjoy the beautiful Azaleas that are everywhere in town. Lake Artemesia is a great place for fishing, biking and walking. The Historic College Park Airport, tennis, ice skating, bike paths, golf, and driving range are all nearby. Public transportation (Metro) is a seven minute walk away. Safeway food market and Starbucks are about three minutes away. Target, Macy's, and other shops and restaurants are within walking distance. College Park, Hyattsville Art District, NASA, Whole Foods are all easily accessible by public transportation. Parking on the premises is available approximately 100 feet from the house, accessed through the backyard which has a slight gentle slope. Please let us know when you book if you are driving and need the parking space. Must go down nine steps with no handrail to access the apartment. You may sit and enjoy the patio or relax in the garden. Absolutely no unregistered guests allowed at any time due to liability issues, and only one registered guest is allowed per booking.
