We are just minutes from the Bend BLM trails, which are a favorite for mountain biking and hiking. With windows along the entire east side of the house, you will always have a view of the Sacramento River and the native landscaping. Staying at our river house will be a refreshing nature getaway If you like rustic charm with quirky surprises, this house is the one for you. Our unique, Frank Lloyd Wright style home offers captivating views of China Rapids, the narrowest stretch of the Sacramento River, and features all of the comforts of home. Enjoy a beautiful sunrise from the coffee nook off of the master bedroom or the claw foot bathtub in the master bath. Light a fire in the living room wood stove and peruse the large book collection. The property is frequented by abundant wildlife. The property is pretty well secluded and "au naturel" meaning most windows are bare, sans shades. If this makes you nervous then our property might not be for you The detached garage is not available for use. Feel free to explore yard and beach directly below the house but please be respectful of our neighbor's property lines. Thank you! We live very close so please don't hesitate to call, text or email if you need anything! **We prioritize our neighbors' privacy and peace of mind thus no parties or smoking are allowed on the property** Please drive slowly on the private road and only access yard and river directly below house Located in "The Bend", our house is one mile from the entrance of the Sacramento River Bend BLM Area where there are thousands of acres and miles of trails along the Sacramento River. Keep a lookout for the abundant wildlife in the area. The local boat ramp is three minutes away under the Bend Ferry Bridge and has plenty of free parking. There is a golf course 10 minutes away **Only experienced kayakers or paddle boarders should consider floating this stretch of the river. You must bring your own kayak or paddle board The house is a six minute drive to Interstate 5 and a 15 minute drive to the historic downtown Red Bluff shopping area. Enjoy fresh pastries at Reiter's Bakery, pizza at E's Locker Room, a deli sandwich at A and R Custom Butchering, sushi at Ikkyu's or a wide variety of food at From the Hearth We live close and are very strict about large gatherings/ parties **Quirks: as you will see by the number of large windows, the original owners did not want to have nature obscured. This includes no shades in the master bathroom. There are 2 shades in the master bedroom facing the neighbors' property (the only place somewhat close to civilization). If the idea of limited shades on the windows makes you uncomfortable you may not want to stay at our place. **Also, hot and cold are reversed in the "seaweed" bathroom shower. **plumbing is sensitive so please do not flush anything but waste and minimal toilet paper. **rattlesnakes are not uncommon in our area in the spring and summer so you will want to always watch your step The wood stove in the living room is available to use during cold, rainy months but NOT the wood stove in the master bedroom. There is a Roku TV in the family room. We have coffee beans, a grinder and a standard coffee maker available as well as a Keurig. Other light breakfast foods can be found in the refrigerator and pantry. Guests are allowed only two vehicles at the property. We live nearby and can see the traffic going in and out and the rates of speed. All guests need to drive slow on the private road.
