Gabriele (Gabe) is one of several quaint, Tiny-home, log homes on a wooded property surrounded by National Park land just a stone throw from the TN River, one mile from South Broad and Ruby Falls at the foot of Lookout Mtn. This wonderful natural setting is nested by the city with quick access to downtown and Lookout. You will enjoy a private furnished back deck and front porch, hot tub, charcoal grill. The actual cabin has a grey exterior. Starting in the back, Gabriele (Gabe, named after our Italian Host Son), boasts a back deck with Adirondack chairs and your own private hot tub. The Master hosts a queen bed, four closets for hanging clothes, lots of drawer storage and TV. Just out of the master is the washer dryer combo unit on the right and the full bath on the left. A step further we enter the kitchen, full stocked for cooking/dining with an electric range, microwave, stove, full-size fridge, cabinets and a bar. The living room and kitchen are open space with the main TV across from the pull-out sofa. The loft has two twin beds. Clearance in the loft is low, at just 4' - it is a sleep loft, not a stand up and walk around space. Additional Information: Before going into just how close this Cabin is to whatever your Chattanooga led heart desires, let us note that Chattanooga has again; for the second time in only 5 years, won Outdoor Magazine's Best Town Ever. There is no other listing so near trails, history, and city and tourist attractions than these gems. The house is exactly one mile from Ruby Falls, 2 miles from Craven's House (which has some great trail heads), 5 miles from Rock City on the GA side of Lookout Mountain and literally a walk to Skyuka Springs trailhead. Skyuka Springs trailhead will connect you to Sunset Rock, Point Park, The Chattanooga Nature Center, even horse trails and bike trails such as the Guild Bike Trail. 2 miles away you will find The Chattanooga Nature Center where Lookout Creek spills into the TN river at Moccasin Bend. Racoon Mountain with its amazing caverns is less than 4 miles from the house if you go west on Cummings Highway. There are also several boat drops close by if you crave a cruise of the gorgeous TN River gorge. Or, if climbing or caving is your bag, we have walls and caves galore just right past your door with the famous Sunset face and the TN wall just miles away by Signal Mountain. Finally, hikes. Hikes, hikes and more hikes to waterfalls, overlooks, historical markers - you name it, it's all right here. We are happy to point you to trail heads, swimming holes, waterfalls, climbing routes, you name it, it literally surrounds you! Then you have amazing downtown Chattanooga. Wauhatchie Woodlands is only 4.5 miles from the Tennessee Aquarium (turn left out of the drive and stay on Cummings Highway which becomes Broad and runs right to the Aquarium) and just over 3 miles to the Chattanooga Choo Choo. Downtown also boasts indoor rock climbing, an Imax 3D Theater and The Creative Discovery Museum. There are numerous delicious restaurants, multiple breweries, a chocolatier, and tons of night life. Finally, if history is what attracts you; we are located closely to where the confederates camped before they retreated to "Point Park" up Lookout Mountain Our property was in both their’s and the union's path in the Battle Above the Clouds. This was also important Cherokee land before the time of muskets and cannons. Our property literally borders Federal Park (Civil War) land on two sides and four sides if you count all our families land around. Even though our compound is literally surrounded by National Park land, it is an urban setting. It is just off US HWY 41, Cummings Highway; just about one mile before it becomes Broad Street which runs straight to the Aquarium. The property is situated at the foot of Lookout Mountain, with many rock outcroppings and fairly steep inclines upon entering the cabin park. It is an old park under steady renovation - i.e. taming the English Ivy and beautifying the shaded, deeply forested setting. We would like to mention that there are active train tracks that border the property north and I-24 is just about 1/2 mile away so there is ambient city and train noise (light sleepers may be affected, but we do have white noise machines in the cabins). Pet Policy: 1. We charge a $30 pet fee for each stay that includes a pet – this must be paid up front. You can pay through Airbnb (contact host) or send to us through Venmo (Wauhatchie Woodlands) 2. We require pets be kept off bedding and sofas (it’s incredibly difficult if not impossible to remove pet hair from bedding and often requires complete replacement). 3. Do not bring an aggressive animal. If there is an incident, it will be reported and you will be held responsible for the animal’s behavior/attack. 4. Failure to clear the pet, pay the fee or if you do not adhere to the pet policies by allowing pets onto furniture or bedding may result in a $75 post-stay penalty
