Clean 1-BR/BTH APT with Full Kitchen 28-Day+ Rent

Very walkable town, an easy 20 min. drive to Yale, New Haven, Waterbury, Bridgeport. Rental suited for: medical students on clinical rotations, travel nurses, and other professionals on contract to local businesses. Private, clean, comfortable furnished 1-bedroom apt., with private entrance, own full kitchen, bathroom, living room, personal space. W/D in unit. Library, grocery, shopping, banks, post office, restaurants nearby. $1700/mo (includes utils) + $1700 refundable dep. This is not anything luxurious out of HGTV, but very clean and comfortable housing in a family neighborhood. This is a 2nd floor apartment in a 3-family home, so there are stairs. The bedroom is large, bright (with room darkening shades), and comfortable, with a queen size with large storage drawers, as well as a dresser. The apartment is comfortable and clean, with ample space . It also has a 32-inch Smart TV in the bedroom and a 40 inch TV in the living room. The one in the living room also has basic cable. Parking is easy to find right on the street outside the house. Full kitchen and cooking access. It's a large, well-stocked kitchen (stove with full-sized oven, full-sized refrigerator, toaster oven, coffee maker, tea kettle, large pantry, pots, pans, utensils, cleaning supplies, etc.). If there's something you need, please just let me know. The washer and dryer are in a laundry closet/pantry right in the kitchen. Guests have a separate entrance to the apartment and the run of the apartment. They may also use the patio and fenced in yard, but it is a shared space. We would be housemates, essentially, and could interact or not interact as the mood moves you. I have had guests who have become friends, and guests who kept entirely to themselves. I am accommodating either way. This is a quiet neighborhood of owner-occupied, multi-family homes within easy access to everything. We raised our family here, and I'd definitely consider it a safe, convenient location. It's highly walkable, with sidewalks and streetlights everywhere. A car is sadly a must for any travel beyond the immediate area. There is a train station within 1/4 mile - the Waterbury branch of Metro North commuter rail that you can ride all the way into New York City -- but the trains only run about every 2-3 hours during the day. You have to change trains in Bridgeport to get anywhere along the main Metro North Line into New York or to points east along the shore, but it's definitely doable, with a bit of advance planning. We are a 20-minute drive from either New Haven Union Station or the Bridgeport MetroNorth train station which have frequent trains to NYC and Amtrak stops. There are buses into New Haven and Bridgeport, but they take a long time. Uber and Lyft are also possibilities, of course. Pets are considered on a case by case basis, sometimes with additional fees. I also do require a refundable security deposit of $1700, payable directly to me at the time of move-in, after the guest has seen that the apt. is as advertised. I also have guests who stay longer than one month sign a lease that includes provisions for the refundable security deposit, house rules, etc. Beyond that, I ask for common consideration and care of the premises, and for others living in the house and neighborhood. No parties, no loud music or noise, no overnight guests without prior permission. A biweekly cleaning service is included during stays, but I request that my guests maintain a basic level of cleanliness and order. Please make sure trash is properly disposed of, no dirty dishes left in the sink to attract pests, run the bathroom fan for at least 15 minutes after and during showers to avoid mildew buildup, etc. Also, please no outside or hard-soled shoes in the apartment to avoid tracking dirt and for noise control.
