Hudson Valley mid century house w/ stunning views
This classic midcentury modern house of ‘68 is a dream for any design enthusiast. The house seemingly floats above its site and so does the stunning butterfly roof. The views are equally beautiful without any other structures in site, just trees and the distant mountain range. An all glass floor to ceiling south facing facade with large sliding doors connects you visually and physically to the outside. Rumor has it that this house was a meeting point for some of the Woodstock rockstars in 1969. The living as well as the dining rooms each allow sweeping views of the Hudson valley and feature a large fireplace as well as a cast iron stove, both of which provide a cozy atmosphere during dinner or just while reading or enjoying a glass of wine. The master bedroom with an open bathroom with bathtub is on the private upper level while the three other bedrooms are on the main floor, all facing east with views into the forest. A large terrace and a covered wrap around balcony allows the use of the outdoors in any weather. Even though the house is visually completely isolated and located on a dead end road with virtually no traffic, an Organic food store and All Sports Health Club with indoor and outdoor pools are only 5 min away. An organic farm for apple picking etc. can be reached in 15 minutes and so can the famous DIA Beacon contemporary arts museum. Hudson Valley mansions, the Hudson River and walking as well as biking trails are also within easy reach. An easy commute from New York City by train or car, the house is ideally located for quick get always from the city. The train station is only a 15 minute car ride away in New Hamburg or also Beacon and one can reach the city in about an hour and twenty minutes or so. By car one can take the NY Throughway or the more romantic Taconic State Parkway.
