Lakefront Stone House w/ Fireplace & Modern Touch

Refresh your inner soul at our beautiful stone house right on quiet Walton Lake in the Hudson Valley. Wake up to nature and perhaps catch bald eagles perched on our trees. Surround yourself with tranquillity and wake up to a morning coffee by the deck. Legoland, Warwick Valley Orchards & Cideries, West Point, Woodbury Commons, Bear Mountain, Harriman State Park, Storm King, Walkway Over the Hudson, Washington’s Headquarters, Newburgh waterfront, Mount Peter Ski, Renaissance Fair, Sugarloaf. This house sits on 1/2 acres of land right on Walton Lake. Lake Walton was and remains to be a popular fishing ground. We get restocked with Trout every year and these fish help preserve the cleanliness and clarity of this reservoir. There are 5 building structures onsite, 3 of which were part of the original build in 1940s: ** the MAIN HOUSE where you'll be staying - this used to be a log cabin, that was meticulously converted by a stonemason into a full stone house in the '60s. ** a BOAT HOUSE, which has since been transformed into a modern boat house (accessible to guests for boat and life vest). NOTE: we're the only ones allowed to retain a building right on the Lake as this is a legacy build & look forward to having you launch off or hang on our dock. The main house has 3 floors: On your stay, you will have privacy. Fl 1 - Kitchen, Dining & Washer/Dryer -- this also connects to the patio Fl 2 - Living Room + 2 Bedrooms NO ACCESS allowed on Floor 3 - It will remain EMPTY and unoccupied during your stay. Studio Apartment that house our belonging & we again ask you to respect our privacy. You have access to * PARKING -- You can park your vehicle in front or to the first immediate left of the garage. * the MAIN HOUSE's 2 out of 3 floors. * Boathouse (Key is hanging by the entrance when you arrive) * 50 feet of amazing lake front * Private Patio We only use this space when we don't have guests but happy to be in touch over chat and provide you guidance on anything! Osseo Park Road is a unique private community in the town of Monroe. We hope that you appreciate the solitude that this place brings and all of its natural wonders. The Lake is a non-motor boat lake and we especially ask that you help us preserve its cleanliness. Why do we love this place? * we're only an hour out of the city but we get so much rural benefits. Appalachian trail is only 4 miles out + all of Harriman State Park, Bear Mountain and Catskills just minutes away. * if rural isn't your thing, don't be afraid. All big box stores (Target, Walmart, BestBuy etc.) + Woodbury Commons are all 10 to 15 mins so shopping amenities are also a great escape. 15 mins from Harriman Train Station 15 mins from Bus shuttles NYC to Woodbury Commons 7 mins from Shortline Bus Station (that goes both from Port Authority or East Side of Manhattan) We will provide you local taxi services to contact as you require. Path from the garage to the house and patio is mostly flat with a few step. Staircase to the lake front is steep and requires extra care. We won’t be on property during your entire stay but available via FaceTime if need guidance around the house.
