A stone’s throw from the Hudson valley wine trail and state parks, this modern ranch is set on a 5 acre former horse farm, providing privacy without seclusion. 2 hrs from NYC, it’s perfect for weekend trips or longer quarantine getaways. An ideal day here can include a morning coffee on the wraparound deck, working remotely with an amazing pastoral view, hiking one of many nearby trails, and ending the night by roasting marshmallows under the stars and unwinding in the clawfoot tub Outside - enjoy some country life with horse stables, lawn games, a grill, fire pit, and plenty of space to run around. The giant wraparound deck is perfect for coffee in the morning and yoga at sunset. Inside, an open, sundrenched living area provides a cozy and spacious environment for relaxing, cooking, and enjoying the view as deer graze across the field. Smart TV with Netflix included and pellet stove provide extra warmth and entertainment to gather around by night. The basement provides entertainment for all ages - equipped with a wall-sized projector, ping pong table, children's books, board games, and vintage video/arcade games. It also includes a private bedroom with private bathroom/shower. The master suite occupies the entire loft, creating a sense of privacy and luxury with a queen bed, beautiful clawfoot bathtub and private terrace. Plenty of work desks and spaces to accommodate remote workers. Cell service is very good at the house, but please keep in mind that being off a private road, the WIFI is not always the best - an honest 3 out of 5 stars - so anybody who needs strong and consistent internet for zoom, etc. should consider bringing a hotspot, which are pretty reasonably priced now. FULLY STOCKED with clean linens/towels, kitchen essentials, firewood, and laundry room. Just bring food, drinks and friends! New Paltz - 20 min 10-20 mins to the Hudson Valley's best hiking/climbing/biking spots - Sam's Point, Mohonk Mountain House, Lake Minnewaska, the gunks Horseback riding and trails - 12 min Angry Orchard - 7min Brimstone Hill Winery - 3min Downtown Pine Bush and grocery stores - 5min Skiing - 30 min to Holiday Mountain ** Keep in mind the perks of living off a private road come with some additional considerations ** Our wifi is about 3/5 stars in terms of reliability, but our cell reception is fantastic, so for any remote work/schooling that requires a lot of heavy data/streaming, we recommend bringing a mobile hotspot for additional connectivity (Verizon has great service and plans are very cheap now) We have well water, which means it's a little soft and will have a slight sulfur smell, which is naturally occurring and perfectly safe to drink (and good for your skin!) And finally, be sure to check the weather report and plan accordingly. Being on a private road can mean getting snowed in for the day waiting for the plow to come, the chance of losing power, etc.
