Beautiful, Sunday River area home
Affordable, family-friendly vacation home in western Maine and the Sunday River area
This property has three bedrooms that sleep seven people comfortably. There are two bathrooms, one with a Jacuzzi tub for two. The living area is open concept that includes a kitchen with all the modern conveniences, a comfortably furnished and large living room, dining room with a table that seats 10 and sun room that overlooks a deck with grill and comfortable deck furniture. There is an upright piano in the living room which piano playing guests are encouraged to use. It has recently been completely overhauled and tuned. There is a 42 inch flat screen TV as well as a DVD player. We have a small library of DVDs for adults and children as well. We also have a Wii game with DVDs which you are welcome to use as well. There is a six person hot tub on the back yard patio. A skylight in the large master bedroom provides a view of Maine's beautiful night sky. One guest bedroom has a full bed and the third bedroom has a bunk bed with full bed on the bottom and twin on the top. The master bathroom with Jacuzzi also has walk in shower and the second bathroom has tub with shower. The kitchen is fully equipped with dishwasher, refrigerator and freezer, microwave, four burner gas stove and oven. Small appliances include toaster oven, coffee maker, and mixer. There are plenty of pots and pans as well as utensils for cooking, baking, and grilling. There are dishes and silverware to easily accommodate up to 12 people should you have guests while staying in our home. Linens are provided and are plentiful. There is a washing machine and dryer in the entrance way. During the winter the property offers on-site access to snowmobile trails as well as on-site sledding, Nordic skiing and snow shoeing on un-groomed trails. The property is just six miles from Sunday River Ski Resort in Newry; it is 8 miles to Mt. Abram Ski Area in Locke Mills; 18 miles to Black Mountain Ski Area in Rumford. There are numerous cross country skiing areas nearby including the Bethel Inn, 6 miles; Black Mountain Ski Area in Rumford; Carter's Cross Country Skiing in Bethel. You can easily take advantage of the unique opportunity to dog sled from nearby Mahoosuc Guide Service which provides one day or multi day dog sledding in the winter. As Maine Guides they also lead canoe and fishing trips in spring, summer and fall. There are a number of local businesses that offer snowmobile rentals and guide service. The Bethel area has numerous restaurants, taverns and pubs which assures that there is a place for everyone's taste. There are numerous fine dining establishments in Bethel as well as on the mountain at Sunday River Ski Resort. There are also many casual restaurants that welcome families with children of all ages. There are large and small restaurants, pubs, cafes and diners. Many eating establishments also provide music on the weekend and Sunday River Ski Resort offers a robust live entertainment schedule throughout the ski season. There is never a reason to be bored when visiting the western Maine foothills! We also manage a variety store that is open from 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. In addition to groceries, there is a wide variety of beer and wine as well as convenience foods such as breakfast sandwiches, pizza, grab and go foods for lunch and dinner, sandwiches and salads as well as freshly baked pastries. In the spring, summer and fall, the campground provides an outdoor pool, mini-golf, shuffleboard, recreation room with games as well as a 400 foot long zip line. We rent canoes and kayaks which can be used in numerous local lakes and rivers with our providing shuttle service.
