This is a large, clean, and comfortable 1- bedroom apartment with its own, large, well-equipped kitchen and private entrance. Available for stays of 1-3 months for fully vaccinated guests, with the possibility to extend (owner calendar and family needs permitting). Your housemate would be a mature schoolteacher who is accommodating and friendly, while respectful of guests' privacy. This is its own unit, a 2nd-floor apartment in a quiet, 3-family house in a quiet, residential neighborhood of a small, walkable, livable city that's an easy 20-minute drive to Yale, New Haven, Waterbury, and Bridgeport. This rental is ideally suited for medical students on clinical rotations, travel nurses, and other professionals on contract with local companies. The suite has ample storage, is very close to the library, many grocery stores, banks, shopping, post office, restaurants and train that connects to NYC and other points north and south -- all available within very easy walking or driving distance. Parking is no problem and is free and easily available on the street right outside the house. It's a flat $1700 monthly rental fee, including all utilities and WIFI. I offer bi- weekly housekeeping, but ask my guests to maintain a basic level of cleanliness. No dirty dishes left to attract pests, run the bathroom fan during and after showers to avoid mildew, and no outside or hard-soled shoes in the apartment to avoid tracking and for noise control. This is a clean residence, and I maintain high standards. There is no further discount available for different length stays. Shorter stays are also fine, but the rental fee stays the same. There is also a refundable security deposit of $1700 to be paid separately from the fees listed here. This is to be paid directly to the owner via Venmo, cash, or direct bank deposit at time of check-in after the guest has had a chance to see that the apartment is as advertised. Pets are considered on a case by case basis, usually with an extra monthly fee, to be negotiated and arranged separately.
