Detached, private guest house!

Come stay in our carriage house turned guest house!, the property has a swimming pool, separate Hot Tub and new BBQ for your private use; please indicate if you intend to use the pool during your stay, we need an hours notice to remove the cover; the hot tub is always ready to use. You will be sure to enjoy the proximity to restaurants, shopping in Ottawa, parks such as Starved Rock, the Vermillion River and a variety of festivals. Our guest house was remodeled in 2010. When entering the space, many people comment that it feels like you are in a tree house. It is comfortable and cozy but bright and airy at the same time. You are greeted with a welcome basket that has a variety of goodies in it, as well as information about the area and wifi instructions. The kitchen features everything that you need to cook or bake. We supply dish soap, laundry detergent, dishwasher detergent, jelly, salt and pepper, sugar, even Nutella! You have a Keurig available for your use, and we include a variety of k-cups. We hope our little touches make you feel more at home and comfortable so you can have an enjoyable stay at our home! Other things to note Our goal is for everyone that stays with us to have a memorable stay! We live in a separate house on the property and are available if there are any issues or questions. The home is in a quiet, friendly neighborhood in South Ottawa. We are 10 miles from Starved Rock, Matthiessen Park, and the Vermillion River (for river rafting). Our home is 3 blocks from the Illinois River and Allen Park. A short 10 minute walk will take you to beautiful downtown Ottawa which features a variety of nice stores and restaurants. Throughout the year Ottawa features a number of festivals, including the Homebrew Mashup Tasting/Competition, Brews, Buds and Blooms Beer Tasting, Ottawa 2 Rivers Wine Festival, and many more! In May, Ottawa always hosts the Samuel Adams Starved Rock Country Marathon (our guest house is right along the route so you can watch from your porch if you aren't participating). Every weekend in the summer, downtown Ottawa also has a farmer's market. There is so much to do throughout the year in Ottawa! The best way to get around Ottawa is by car. However, our property is within a 10 minute walk to downtown Ottawa. We are also only a 5 minute walk from a very nice park and boat launch on the Illinois river.
