High mountain views = sloped mountain driveways. Makes sense, right? Steep driveways are very typical of mountain homes. Most folks think it's perfectly fine and don't have an issue. It's part of the adventure! After approximately 280 stays, only 3 have voiced concern. It’s due to those 3 that I've take the time to craft this information. It’s my wish to make EVERYONE happy! It is worth noting that some folks with a mobility issue or new to driving in the mountains, may find the driveway uncomfortable. In the interest of making sure my guests are thoroughly happy with their choice to stay at my Sweet Mount Royal House, let me describe it as best I can… • The House is positioned above the road with plenty of parking along the road. • The bottom/entrance of the driveway is fairly flat with an extra parking spot to the side – room for 2-3 cars. • The asphalt driveway is approximately 60' in length. From the bottom, it curves slightly and proceeds up to the house (approximately 4 car lengths) at about a 25º incline – lower than walking up a standard staircase, however no steps nor railing. (I'm considering adding those this summer.) • Yes, you can park at the top to avoid to walking up/down. I suggest backing up to the House for ease of opening your car doors, accessing your trunk, and to make your exit easier. (Easier to leave the driveway going forward… speaking from several years of experience living at the House.) • There are stairs to access the upper / main living area of the house – 3 bedrooms, 1.5 baths, living room, kitchen, and screened porch. For someone with a mobility challenge, this might not be the right House for you. I just don't want anyone to be surprised. Your comfort and enjoyment is my #1 priority. –––––––––––––––– WELCOME BOOK Once you reserve, I’ll send you a note with a pdf of my exclusive 20+ page “Welcome Book”.
