Great room by St. John's Hospital (Room#4)

We offer a comfortable, spacious bedroom inside a beautiful brick bungalow in Harper Woods near Grosse Pointe. This house is just 1 mile away from St.John’s hospital, close to many great restaurants. This room is perfect for students on rotation and residencies at St. John's Hospital. A bus route, heading straight to the hospital is just a short walk from the house. We have 5 bedrooms, each with a keypad lock for complete privacy. The common areas are shared, perfect for making new friends. Our house has a ton of natural light coming in. This room in particular has a very light and cheerful feel, and is located on the main floor of the house. We like to call it the "Green Room." It comfortably sleeps two people.We have 5 bedrooms available to our guests to stay in, and most likely the other rooms will be booked during your stay. We provide off street parking to our guests. We have 2 spaces in our garage and 2 spaces on a pavement behind the house. Parking in the garage is 1st come 1st served. We often host guests without a car, so sometimes we have extra parking spots available. Please check with us if you plan to have more than one car. Guests will have access to laundry, Kitchen, Living Room and Bathrooms. Our neighborhood is a beautiful place with many similar brick bungalows which were built in the 1950s. The streets are well kept, the children are often out playing in their front yards, and people are always out walking their dogs and enjoying the weather in the summer. You also frequently see people out doing yard work because they take pride in the appearance of their houses in this neighborhood. We provide off-street parking for all our guests. Large SUVs/trucks may have difficulty parking, since the driveway is pretty narrow. Parking is available on the street in front of the house, but leaving your car there overnight may lead to a $25 parking ticket. Temporary month long permits to park on the street overnight can be obtained at the Harper Woods police station for guests who wish to park on the street and are staying for a longer period of time. In case you plan on using public transit, there is a public bus system called SMART bus. You can visit their website which has all of the system maps and schedules to help you plan your trip around the metro Detroit area. Many of our guests use Uber to get (Website hidden by Airbnb) is much faster and reasonably priced. There is a motion activated WiFi camera with two way voice on the garage outside to assist with with check-in and to improve security at the property. Guests will have access to laundry, Kitchen (Dishes, appliances, and utensils) Living Room, Bathroom, Wifi, and their bedroom. We live 4 hours away from this property and usually stops by about once a month. Our house manager stops by weekly to clean the common areas (we do not enter the bedrooms during reservations). There are two public transport systems in the area, DDOT and the smart bus system. The Smart bus system services this neighborhood with a stop close by on Harper Avenue, but if you wish to go into Detroit you will need to transfer the the DDOT system. There is a crossover of the systems at St. John's hospital about 1/2 mile down Mack Avenue. Both systems have maps online on their websites. The smart bus system has an app you can download. We highly suggest using Uber or Lyft. It is usually much quicker and is fairly inexpensive.
