Welcome to the Red Brick Roost Guesthouse. This historic home is the oldest brick house in Rockwood and dates to the 1870s. The house was recently remodeled and furnished in antiques. The house is conveniently located on Main Street in town, just .7 mile ride/walk from the Great Allegheny Passage trailhead. We area also close to other local gems: Hidden Valley, Seven Springs, the Flight 93 Memorial site, and Fallingwater. We look forward to having you roost with us! As nearly as we can figure, the current brick house on the site dates to the 1870s. It is decorated with antique furniture that gives the house its vintage feel while being comfy and functional. Our renovation was completed in 2020 and equipped the house with Wifi, a smart TV for streaming your favorite shows, and full kitchen with all the essential cooking supplies, and off-street parking for both bikes and cars. You will pick up your key from the lockbox by the kitchen door (east/left) side of the house when facing from Main Street. The code will be provided once your reservation is confirmed. You'll have access to all areas on the first and second floor. We ask that you close the doors to any bedrooms you are not using. You'll check yourself in and out of the house using a lockbox, but please contact us through the AirBNB app if you need ANYTHING! In its heyday, Rockwood was a bustling railroad town in the middle of farm country. Now, our small town is home to about 850 people. The Red Brick Roost is located on Main Street next to the Miller Building, a large 3-story building that now houses our family's furniture store. The Great Allegheny Passage is within easy walking/riding distance of the AirBnB. Also located on Main Street are Rock City Cafe, which is a local watering hole for drinks and good wings, and the Rockwood Mill Shoppes and Opera House, which offers coffee, pizzas and sandwiches and variety shops, in addition to occasional music and dinner theater shows. A gravel parking area and bike rack are located behind the house for our guests' use only. You access the parking area by using the alley beside the house. We offer a breakfast basket for an additional fee. All ingredients are locally sourced right here in Somerset County. Baskets are $30 each and are available upon request. Each basket includes: 6 breakfast sausage links 6 eggs Plenty of pancake mix Your own bottle of Somerset Co. maple syrup Juice Milk Coffee and tea are always available in the kitchen! Please let us know in advance if you would like a breakfast basket. We'll send you a request for the $30 cost of the basket through AirBNB, and you'll need to accept the charge through your account on the AirBNB website (not available on the app). If a payment is not received prior to your arrival, a basket will not be left for you.
