Welcome to the River Lodge! This beautiful custom-built home sits on a peaceful five acres on the banks of the Mississippi River. Whether you are hoping to relax and enjoy the sounds of nature while sipping coffee on the wrap-around porch, or you are eager to hit the bike trails of the famous Cuyuna Country State Recreation Area, this lodge is the perfect place for you! This lodge was made for gathering with friends and family. It features three levels with 7 bedrooms plus extra sleeping space in the loft balcony and the bunk area of the game room, for a total sleeping space for 24 people. The large kitchen and dining room is fully equipped with all the basic cooking tools and ready for food and laughter. You can walk right out of the kitchen onto the spacious wrap around porch to enjoy a meal with views of the river. In the great room with its double height ceiling and loft balconies, you can get cozy with one of our many antique books, enjoy great conversation with friends, or start a rowdy board game with your group. This large gathering space is also perfect for meetings, reunions and all kinds of retreats. From the walkout basement, you can take a stroll down to the river, go fishing, enjoy a s’more by one of the two fire pits, or view the incredible display of stars from the comfort of the salt water hot tub! During cold months, the River Lodge provides a cozy environment to relax or be with friends and family. From the extensive variety of books and games, to the ping pong and air hockey tables, to the warmth of the fireplace, there is plenty of space and options to have fun while staying in. In the neighboring communities of Aitkin, Crosby and the Brainerd lakes area, you will find a variety of cafes, restaurants, antique shops and events throughout the year. One of the main attractions of the area is the Cuyuna Country State Recreation Area (CCSRA) which is Minnesota’s best mountain biking destination, ranked Silver level by the International Mountain Biking Association. Besides mountain and fat tire biking, you can also enjoy canoeing, trout fishing and scuba diving there! In the winter, cross country, snowshoe and snow-mobile trails are all nearby.
