Very rustic cabin

Close to the village of Kinmount, by the Burnt River on 10 acres of mixed forest with1,500 ft river front and a lookout rock, you will find this rustic, single-room cabin with a bunk loft that sleeps two. There is a wood stove to keep you warm but no other services. You can swim, boat of fish the river, and roam the land ... all responsibly without leaving marks behind when you have left. Enjoy and respect the nature that surrounds you. Besides the cabin there is an outhouse, tree platform and small dock to land your canoe or kayak for your exclusive use. You have all freedoms and responsibilities on this wooded lot while you are here. * ** OBSERVE ALL POSTED FIRE BANS *** There are no fences that mark the extent of the property so you need to take care not to get lost. Before you book, please send me a message to arrange a time to talk. If we agree this is a place for you we arrange to meet on a Sunday morning at the old railway station in Kinmount and hike in together (1/2 hour) or go by canoe so I can show you around. After the orientation you will have privacy for the rest of your stay on the following Saturday afternoon. Generally, you can reach me by phone during normal waking hours if you have questions. Depending on when in the year you visit, Kinmount may be lively or very quiet. It is known for the annual fair and the Highland Cinemas with its movie paraphernalia collection, There is a weekly market, art gallery and museum by the dam which may or may not be open. A converted rail trail runs through the village, and the Burnt River is navigable by canoe to the Trent-Severn waterway. There is a bus service to Kinmount. If you arrive by car it can be left at the public boat launch or the parking lot by the station. Water can be in fetched in a pale from the river to boil for drinking and cooking or bring bottled water. Generally, you can catch a cell phone signal. Kinmount has a general store and restaurants for food supply. You need to carry all your supplies and bedding in, including sleeping mat.
