Near the churches, Haley Mansion, University of Saint Francis, Harrahs, downtown, and within 2 blocks a select few restaurants, bars, Dunkin Donuts, CVS. Sterilized THROROUGLY between stays and no shared access. Constantly updated, now contains queen bed in master and full bed moved to create 2nd bedroom. This cozy 2 flat offers the upstairs unit, with a peaceful view to the south overlooking the Cathedral area. Master Suite is the front quarter of the space with a queen bed, desk TV, electric fireplace. 2nd bedroom with full bed, additional TV, and a good sized closet. Futon also in dining / sitting area, with bedding in closet for futon. Wi-Fi throughout. Wired internet if you need a hard wired connection. Bathroom recently renovated. Kitchen has the usual amenities, aside from dishwasher. Cabinets and counters are older but functional. Historic older home and parking off alley in rear. Yard is available to use as much as you like, just please keep the gates latched. I have a small dog that does go out about 3x/day so I want to keep him in and safe. He is nearly silent in the house and does not bark indoors. Fire pit and furniture are yours to use. Fire wood is stacked near the back gate near the garage. key code access in to the unit, you'll be able to 'key' yourself in electronically even when it's a late arrival. New codes generated for every guest! Parking in rear, parking pad behind property off of the alley. I will give detailed turn by turn directions upon booking. Motion sensor lights entering the yard and providing extra security for your vehicle. Light in stairwell and back door automatically on at dusk if you're checking in or getting 'home' after dark. I have lights in the yard too so you shouldn't be fumbling around in the dark or navigating stairs with any issue. I live downstairs but unless I'm out doing yard work, you wont run into me unless I'm needed. I've got my own life and travel too (when there's not a pandemic) so I'll let you know if I'll be around during your stay. If not, I've got friends in the area that can help as well. located at 6 corners, bedroom overlooks the cathedral area to the south. Nearby you can walk to CVS, Thayer Brothers, the Joliet Bakery, Joe's, and there is a laundromat if needed about 2 blocks up plainfield road. Baci pizza is a favorite as well! A little more than a walk, you can find the many churches and Haley Mansion, downtown area and casino, 2 breweries, and plenty of places to visit. West down the road at 55 is Rock Run forest preserve, with a nice 2 mile loop. Up Plainfield Road toward 55 there is a TON near the mall, not to mention the mall itself. 80 is also easily accessible, and couldn't be easier to get to. Turn right out of the alley and follow the road, and it will eventually turn into the entrance ramp. Very convenient to 80 and 55 (30 pretty much runs into both, and my alley spits out onto 30 at either end) and there's a few places within walking distance. Otherwise, come and go as you please, there's plenty of spots for food or drink up and down the road. HVAC is shared for the whole house - but is accessible via the Alexa units that are in the unit. Electric fireplace for winter too, and numerous window, ceiling, and box fans. Climate is 100% in your control. Keeping all vents and cold air returns free of obstructions will help immensely! Fireplace must be turned off when you're not home, please!
