Guest access Our host Courtney will be a resource for any of your questions regarding the house, navigating the city, and must-do and see in Chicago. Our goal is to ensure you have the most enjoyable and comfortable stay in Chicago. We're more than happy to offer suggestions before or during your trip to help you maximize your time in the city. We're always accessible via phone or email for any questions that arise. Self check-in If we are unable to meet you upon arrival, we have provided a easy self-check in method. We’re always available to answer questions if you are having any trouble using the locks. House Rules --- Not suitable for pets No smoking No parties or events, productions, photography sessions or other similar items No use for any other purpose than as booked Additional rules: • Please leave shoes at the front door or at top of stairs, • Normal quiet hours to be respectful of downstairs neighbors - 10pm to 8am. The City of Chicago requires a guest parking sticker for any vehicle in a zoned area. The street (Gunnison) in front of the building is zone 79. The purchase of these stickers during your stay should be pre-arranged with us and cost for $1 per sticker • The city requires a new sticker for each 24 hr period • The sticker does not guarantee a spot in the zone even though one is required. There is generally not an issue with finding a spot, but it can be challenging later in the evening. o We recommend that once you find a spot, you leave the car parked and use public transportation, walk or taxi/Uber/Lyft to get around during your stay….or the blue bike share (Divvy) if the weather is nice! This is more efficient and less expensive than trying to find parking around the city, which can be quite expensive, especially downtown. • There is also non-zoned (free) parking on the both of the streets at the end of Gunnison ( Sheridan on one end and Marine Drive on the other end) – these go very quickly but can be used by anyone. Make sure that you pay attention to all of the signs that might indicate any restrictions. • There is also a parking lot at the field house just North of the building on Marine Drive – you can use the pay box located in the lot to pay for parking here and is very reasonable for overnight parking. • If driving around the city in your car, please be very observant to all signs indicating parking restrictions as well as restricted zones. o They are not consistent throughout the city – different zones have different restrictions. o Non-zoned areas are almost always governed by the green parking boxes – make sure to always check the block you’re on to confirm if you have to pay with a box since, just like the zoned area, not all green boxes have the same rules from area to area. You can use the parking app for easier renewal if parking longer than the box allows. • Basket of coupons – feel free to use any and as many of these as you like. We suggest using them to check out different neighborhoods in the city! • Bar against wall – feel free to use any of the mixers or liquors inside the bar. Kitchen • There are some basic ingredients for cooking set out for you in the baskets left of the island counter. Other guests have also left cooking items – feel free to use anything on those open shelves including the snacks! Other instructions and information are included in the house book inside the unit.
