Here, you feel like you're in a different state... of place, and of mind. Our quiet cabin in the woods has lots of windows and natural light, and is surrounded by pines and oaks, and stunning mountain views. And, amazingly, we are only 90 minutes from Los Angeles! You'll find the interior space clean, comfortable and relaxing. Outside, three decks, all on different levels, with different views, provide tranquil connection with the forest and wildlife, and the massive sky full of stars. Two night minimum bookings, please. Certain holidays require a three night minimum. Cabin Details Running Bear Cabin has easy vehicle access and ample parking on level gravel. Five broad steps bring you up to the front deck that spans the width of the house. Inside, the living room, dining area, kitchen and bathroom are on the first floor. The living room has a flat screen television with Roku tech for Netflix, HBO and more.. and a dvd player with a nice collection of dvds to choose from. There is also a stereo receiver and turntable! A growing collection of games and puzzles are available for guest use. Mid-level, access the second deck overlooking the greenbelt and Mt. Pinos beyond. The views!! From the mid-level landing, stairs on each side lead to two loft bedrooms, each with one queen bed. Cozy Bedroom has its own private deck, perfect for morning coffee, writing, stretching, and quiet contemplation of the celestial realm above. Moonrise Bedroom is made for lounging and watching the clouds roll by, a prelude for the moonrise and the dazzle of endless stars at night. This is indoor-outdoor living! The kitchen is very large, and fully stocked with cooking gear, coffee maker, coffee grinder, toaster oven, and more. For the bathroom we provide all the necessities: towels, wash cloths, toilet paper, shampoo/conditioner, and body wash. The copper and stone vanity contains a hair dryer and make-up cloths. Almond firewood is stacked under the front porch for use in the wood burning stove. Guests can access the entire house, minus one locked artist studio/workshop. The house sits on 3/4 acres, all outdoor areas are accessible for guests to enjoy. This is a self-check in home. There is a lock box on the front deck railing with a code that will be provided prior to arrival. We have two exterior security cameras, one at the back door, and one at the front. You can use the ring feature to speak with me directly in case of anything urgent. Other things to note Please remove your shoes when enjoying the inside of the cabin. Bring some cozy house slippers or comfy sox! We prefer you use the wood burning stove to heat the home; you'll see it does the job extremely well. A central heat furnace with smart thermostat is also available. About Pine Mountain Club Pine Mountain Club is in the Los Padres National Forest, a huge expanse of forested mountains that sits between the I-5 Grapevine and coastal Ventura. And it's only 1.5 hours from the hustle and bustle of Los Angeles! Pine Mountain Club is a small village with restaurants, gift shops, art galleries, performance spaces, cafes, a watering hole with the best view you'll ever have from inside a bar, and a general store (and deli) that carries all of the necessities. Game of horse shoes, anyone? PMC even has a sand horseshoe pit right in the middle of the village! Many hiking and horse trails traverse through our mountains and valleys, and the elevations between 5600-8000 ft brings us snow and zero light pollution for excellent star-gazing. The peak of Mt. Pinos is only a 20 minute drive from PMC, and is a world famous gathering place for professional astronomers and amateur fans of the celestial alike! As a guest in Pine Mountain Club, you will have access to our clubhouse that provides many activities for all ages. From golf to ping pong, from horse back rides to frolicking in the pool, we've got an activity for you! Our club has outdoor tennis and basketball courts, structured classes such as yoga and tai chi, as well as a lunch cafe and a dinner lounge, with full bar and live entertainment! Seasonally, we host the Lilac Festival, Wines in the Pines, and much more. See the Pine Mountain Club schedule of events for more info. Come breath in the fresh air, stroll the village, hike the mountains, or just plain RELAX! This is THE place to do it.
