While these vary, our drive times have been: 25-30 min to Asheville 15-18 min to Hendersonville 15-18 min to Brevard ++Main Floor++ - There is a main floor KING BED room with an adjoining bathroom perfect for folks of an older vintage who find stairs tough to handle. They will have no problem enjoying family time as 2 of the 3 living spaces, both outdoor spaces, and all 3 dining spaces can be found on this floor. - Grand living room with 4 seating areas, exposed beams, and massive natural stone fireplace w/ the convenience of turn-dial gas logs. - Enjoy your morning sips with incredible views and a hanging chair in our comfy sunroom. - Dining room with seating for 9-10 - Breakfast area with seating for 6-7 - Kitchen island w/ seating for 2 - Kitchen fully equipped for family cooking, including fun extras like a waffle maker, special popcorn bowls, dual coffee makers, and an electric kettle for tea. Complimentary teas and coffee included. ++Upper Floor++ - Extra-large master bedroom ensuite with amazing mountain views, KING BED, sitting area, workspace, and adjoining extra room perfect for setting up our portable crib to keep the young ones closer. - Spacious room with TWO QUEEN BEDS and another jaw-dropping mountain view. - Large bunk room with TWO BUNKS BEDS (FOUR TWINS total). - Full bathroom in the hallway. - Laundry room in the hallway with a washer, dryer, and complimentary detergent. ++Basement++ - An entire second living space with smart TV (connected to the Dish Network), foosball table, bumper pool table, kitchenette, and lots of games. This space is perfect for an active family evening or a teen space while the adults hang out on the deck! - Additional room with KING BED, bunk room (TWO BUNKS aka FOUR TWINS), and full bathroom also included on this floor! ++Garage++ - Plenty of space to store bicycles and a couple cars. - You'll find a big gas grill and propane tank in here. Just pop open the garage door and roll the grill out into the driveway, or, if it's raining, just to the edge of the garage threshold. We have to keep the grill in here as a means of keeping the bears away. ++Outdoor Areas++ - We've got a truly luxurious hot tub that is custom-built for relaxation and therapy and is one of the only hot tubs that can actually be packed with Epsom salts to aid in recovery and rest! Inside, you'll find plenty of beach towels to use for drying off. - There's a spacious covered, screened porch off of the living room with German Bier Garden table & benches imported from Germany. - We've also stacked lightweight outdoor chairs and folding tables for your convenience that can be carried out onto the deck. - The large brick fire pit is in the side yard, with many oversized camp chairs stored safely in a cabinet inside an open-air shed. Walk down the deck and continue down flat stone stairs and across the back yard into the side yard and you'll see the fire pit there. There is always some stacked wood inside the shed as well. - The front porch is one of our favorite spots. With the view in the back, most people wouldn't think of sitting out front, but we'd recommend it! The wind passes through the trees in such a fantastic way. Sit in one of four rocking Adirondack chairs or grab the hammock from the garage and set it up on the pre-hung carabiners on the trees in the island across the driveway. Please be sure to bring it back in after use to ensure it survives the elements. ++Technology++ - Wifi is provided at speeds that typically vary between 1-100 mbps down which is often (but not always) helpful for those who need to stream or hold video conference calls. There are routers placed around the house to ensure great coverage. It's best suited for 1-2 devices streaming at a time max. When download speeds are below 3 mbps streaming may not be available. - Cell service has worked fine for those on T-mobile and Verizon. Guest access You'll have access to the entire home! We'll send you a code to access the property through the front entrance during your stay. Other things to note Access to the house is via a paved, private one-lane road. Years ago, it was all gravel, glad that's passed us! Also, note, there are no sheer or steep drop-offs on the sides of the road; it's hugged by the mountain all the way up, so for those afraid of heights, we haven't heard of any issues. There are parts of the road that are steep. Take your time going up, stick to around 10-15 mph; that way, if you see another car coming, one of the two of you can back into a driveway to let the other pass. Don't ever try to pull off the road into a ditch; always use driveways. They're all around. Watch out for wildlife along the road and the occasional fallen branch. ----DURING YOUR STAY---- --Cleanliness & COVID-- - Beyond selecting only the finest materials for furnishings and bedding, we make sure those items are sanitized and clean. Extra steps we take to ensure a spotless stay for your friends and/or family include: - We clean the duvet covers on beds after every stay - We have replaced all doorknobs with antimicrobial knobs (yes, they really exist) - We sanitize all food & high-touch surface areas. - We disinfect the property top-to-bottom a few times a year with a service that guarantees the elimination of all bacteria on any surface or item.
