The Tomlin House-Make Spring Hiking Plans!

Come relax in our charming 1904, 2 bedroom apartment in Demorest. Spend the day in the North GA mountains, and stay cozy at night. Wake to coffee of your choice & have a homemade muffin or some fresh eggs from my chickens. You'll love being so close to waterfall hikes, wineries, Tallulah Gorge, Appalachian Trail, Piedmont College, Alpine Helen, zip-lining, geocaching, etc. The Tomlin House is right in the center of Demorest with Sweet Breads restaurant just off the front porch. This 2 bedroom apartment is on the 2nd floor, side entrance of the house. This space was originally the residence for the printing press and then grocery store downstairs. This apartment is accessed via a side brick staircase to the left of the house. It has it's own front patio and wrap around front porch. Original elements such as heart pine doors and floors have been lovingly restored. The apartment has a full kitchen, living room, bathroom, and two bedrooms, and laundry closet. The apartment is great for couples, solo adventurers, young families, business travelers, and dogs. Although this is truly a space that you can live in it's also perfectly suited to anyone wanting a comfy rest at the end of a day of hiking, visiting wineries or just enjoying the mountains. At the Tomlin House we strive to make each guest feel like they are the first to stay in our bnb. After each guest, the wood floors are vacuumed, steamed and polished. The tile floors are vacuumed and steamed or bleached. The carpets are vacuumed and steamed. All sheets, pillow cases, blankets and duvet cover are washed in hot water with the best detergents (bleached where applicable) and softeners. The upholstery is vacuumed and steamed as well. This house was built in 1904 and has always had 2 completely separate apartments that are not connected by any internal staircases or doorways. The main level was originally a printing press and then in the 1920s became a grocery store. The upstairs, where you will be staying, has always been the residence. The entrance is up an exterior brick staircase to the left of the house. This is a 1100 sq.ft bright and clean apartment from the slip-covered or leather furniture to the hypoallergenic covers for the boxspring, mattress and all the pillows. All of this is topped with flax linen or 1200tc cotton sheets, down pillows and a down comforter. If down allergies are a concern, please let me know in advance and down-alternative pillows and comforter can be used for your stay. There's cable TV and 100MB internet service for the business traveler. There's sitting space on the front porch. Another private sitting space on the outdoor patio with a grill. Charcoal waiting for you. And a third area out back on the property, a large fire pit with a view of the town and college campus. Firewood is waiting at this location as well. I live in Demorest in a 1908 house ,that I'm working on, at the other end of the street and will be available for help and questions at any time. I can be at the house when you arrive or you can check-in completely by yourself with key-less entry code. You need only let me know your preference. Sweet Breads restaurant is just steps from the front porch. We've also got a wonderful coffee house on the corner. The house is right in the middle of an old fashioned walk around town and directly across from the Chapel at Piedmont College and the commuter parking lot. Demorest Springs Park is within 75 yards of the house. It has playground equipment for children and is a nice walk for dogs. We have Uber in Demorest now, just ask me for our address for pick up. Clayton Taxi is a local taxi company in the area, especially good to use if you plan on going into Helen. There's also a winery tour on Airbnb that can take you to local vineyards and tasting rooms.
