Nothing much happens here.... which is what makes it so special. The cabin is located on the old Farnsworth homestead- settled in the early (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) 's. The old granite foundations of the original structures are still remarkably intact. Dam Road meanders through bucolic woodlands down to the still visible ruins of its namesake mill dam at the joining of the Narraguagus River and Beddington Lake. The forests are laced with a network of trails that meander by river banks, old cabins, peat bogs, and vast blueberry barrens. You just might see grazing moose, coyotes, fishers-(critters related to weasels), bear, deer, turkeys, eagles, hawks, owls, turkey vultures, water foul, bobcats, woodcocks, and rabbits. The surrounding lakes and streams support trout, salmon, large mouth bass, pickerel, and alewives. The shores and marshes of these waterways are lined with the handiwork of industrious beavers. ATV trails are easily accessible and the road is legal to ride ATV's on. All of the trails in the area eventually hook up with the famous Sunrise Trail. They meander through forests and barrens. They're well maintained, quiet, and clearly marked. Access a map online or consult the cabin copy. These same trails are open to hiking and mountain biking as well. I prefer that guests book a minimum of 7 days from June 4th until Oct 29th. Check in and out on Saturdays. This is negotiable depending on demand. The cabin is easy to get to and not that far from the main road. Because the town only plows the snow halfway to the cabin I recommend accessing the property in the winter months with a 4 wheel drive vehicle- one with high clearance- as the snow may prevent you from driving in with a regular car. If you don't have 4wd and it looks too sketchy I'll be there to welcome you at the top of the road and give you and your gear a lift to the cabin. I strongly urge guests with vehicles with low clearance take care when entering the property all year round. Well behaved, free range dogs are very welcome. 2 max. Guests are responsible for damage caused by dogs, kids, or grown ups. NO FLUSH TOILET. NO SHOWER. NO HOT TUB. NO WIFI. NO WASHER OR DRYER.
