THE ALPENGLOW CABIN This newly renovated, vintage 1920's cabin sits proudly in the pristine San Bernardino Forest waiting to welcome you. NOTE: There is no A/C in the home. Extra fans are provided if needed. There is an inclined dirt/gravel driveway to reach the cabin (about 60 feet long) - any kind of car can drive up, but we thought we'd mention it. No smoking/vaping. We are a smoke-free home -- thank you. No BBQ/grilling on premises. **Extreme Fire Danger** Sorry, no pets/animals, no exceptions - we promise our guests a pet/dander-free home. With our Adventure Pass, you'll have access to all the National forest trails and recreation areas. HOME DESCRIPTION This quaint two-bedroom and one-bath cabin features: - A vaulted living room ceiling in the main living area with beautifully, hand-crafted wood beams, picturesque windows and comfortable seating. - Spacious open floor plan for enjoyable, central conversation - include everyone in the living room, kitchen and dining area. - Attractive hardwood floors throughout the entire home with elegant furnishings and lighting. - Fully-equipped kitchen with a brand new stainless steel refrigerator, coffee maker, tea kettle and supplied with cookware, glassware, dining set & utensils. - Beautifully detailed, handcrafted wood entryway. - A spacious deck with relaxed seating and a small back porch with spectacular tree-lined views. Sleeping arrangement: - Bedroom #1 - Principal bedroom w/Queen-sized bed (sleeps 2) - Bedroom #2 - Bunk room w/two twin bunks (sleeps 4) OUR NEIGHBORHOOD Located in Lake Arrowhead’s Twin Peaks Neighborhood. This serene area is an ideal getaway for the whole family and makes a great home base for all of the summer and winter activities Lake Arrowhead and San Bernardino Mountain Resorts have to offer. Just a 5-minute drive to Blue Jay Village; Jensen’s Grocery, Starbucks Coffee, our local movie theater, casual dining & shopping - and a scenic, 10-minute drive to downtown Lake Arrowhead Village & Shops; Stater Bros. Marketplace, outlet shopping, antiquing & dining. We are close to skiing - just 25 minutes from Snow Valley Ski Resort and 45 minutes from Big Bear Lake and more skiing, snowboarding & sledding. And with our National Forest Vehicle Adventure Pass, you can park/visit any one of the many US Forest Service trails and recreation areas. There are a wide variety to choose from, ranging from easy, stroller friendly walks with animal footprint trails for kids, to more advanced hikes with rock formations and hot springs!  ** This mountain retreat is perfect for guests who want to unwind and enjoy a serene & relaxing getaway. Simply sit back and enjoy a cup of coffee and read from the many books on the shelves! At night, sitting on the deck enjoying the stars and the forest are a perfect end to a day of adventure. This charming alpine cabin is the perfect setting for a relaxed vacation with family and friends. GUEST ACCESS All of it! You have access to the full house. The cabin is setup to be your home away from home. Note: There is one storage closet located in the principal bedroom that is locked and not accessible to guests. *Arrival & check-in time is after 5pm. *Departure & check-out is by Noon. Additional note to guests: Q: DO WE ALLOW EARLY CHECK-INS? A: Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate early check-ins -- as it will not allow our housekeeper enough time to fully prepare the home for you. Q: CAN I GET A LATE CHECK-OUT? A: Unfortunately, we cannot grant late check-outs. Our housekeeper is on a tight schedule to clean multiple homes, and we cannot accommodate a late check-out request. Thank you for your understanding. PARKING: There is an inclined gravel/dirt driveway to reach the cabin (about 60 feet long), so if you have an SUV or cross-over, bring it for easier access! Q: WHAT TYPE OF WEATHER SHOULD I EXPECT ON MY TRIP? A: PLEASE COME ADEQUATELY PREPARED!!! Be sure to check the local forecast for weather conditions. In the fall & winter months expect fog, rain, sleet and snow. Roads can be very icy, and the owners cannot be responsible for weather or driving conditions. Q: DO I NEED TIRE CHAINS ON MY VEHICLE? A: During the SNOW season it is wise to carry snow chains. CHP requires possession of chains/cables when traveling mountain roads in icy conditions. Chains can be purchased at the base of the mountain near Highland Avenue & Hwy 330 at the Super Walmart. *Be sure to get the right size for your tires. Q: WILL I HAVE TO SHOVEL SNOW? A: YES! Our neighborhood road is plowed by the county - but our driveway, steps, and deck are not. *Guests are responsible for removing snow should it snow during their stay. ** In snowy conditions, CHAINS MAY BE REQUIRED for access up the mountain and for driving on mountain roads. Be sure to check weather and road conditions by contacting CalTrans, the National Weather Service, etc. * We do not extend refunds due to weather conditions, road closures, driver's abilities or vehicle limitations. * Mountain weather requires shoveling snow. Guests will be responsible for shoveling steps, the deck, a place to park and shoveling a path to and from the cabin. * Snow shovels are located on the cabin deck -- shoe/boot chains are highly recommended when conditions are snowy and icy. ** BE SURE TO COME ADEQUATELY PREPARED** Q: IS THE PROPERTY ISOLATED? A: The Property is located in a mountain community and is surrounded by neighboring cabins. The community itself is surrounded by forest. ** To reduce risk of wildfire during severe weather conditions, Southern California Edison reserves the right to temporarily cut electrical service to its customers, and we have no control over that. Our guests understand that there will be no refunds for power outages or internet/Wi-Fi interruptions and that they'll happily accept the unlikely inconvenience for the sake of preserving our forests! **NOISE DISTURBANCES - Please be respectful of all neighbors. Noise travels easily in the mountains & we ask that our guests be respectful of the full-time residents that live nearby. Your reservation is for a quiet, relaxing & enjoyable stay! **MAXIMUM OCCUPANCY - Please specify the correct number of guests when requesting/booking a reservation. This cabin is strictly for the specified number of guests on the reservation booking and maximum occupancy is strictly enforced. Q: CAN I INVITE MORE PEOPLE THAN THE MAXIMUM ALLOWED LISTED? A: Maximum occupancy does not only refer to the number a home can sleep, this is also the number of people allowed in the home at any given time. It is determined by the licensing authority based on the number of exits in the home and fire safety codes. **San Bernardino County has codes that are strictly enforced. Be sure to abide by the maximum occupancy number for the home at ALL times. **IF YOU DO NOT ABIDE BY THESE CODE ENFORCEMENT POLICIES: - Your reservation will be immediately cancelled. - All deposit and rental fees paid will be forfeited. - You will be escorted off the premises immediately. *This cabin is strictly for the specified number of guests on the reservation booking and maximum occupancy is strictly enforced. Please be sure to review the "House Manual" on your arrival for additional cabin and guest information. CABIN & GUEST INFORMATION: • Check-in is after 5pm. • Check-out is by Noon. TO AVOID ADDITIONAL CHARGES AT TIME OF CHECK OUT: • No damage is done to cabin or its contents. Property is to be left in excellent condition, just requiring a standard cleaning. • No charges are incurred due to damage from pets or smoking during the stay. • No indoor & outdoor furniture, appliances, trail passes, or household & property contents is lost or damaged. • Replacement cost for a lost or misplaced Adventure pass is $145 per pass. *ALL GUESTS are recommended to have the VRBO app downloaded on their phone so that host and guest can easily communicate throughout your stay.
