Located just 65 miles from NYC, the cabin features 2 bedrooms -- 1 queen, 1 twin -- a working fireplace and proximity to microbreweries, Storm King Art Center, multiple hiking spots and lovely farm stands. Perfect for people looking for a nature getaway. There's a pond across the road (not swimmable) and we often see deer, hawks, owls, cranes & a wide variety of birds. Beauty abounds! But there is no TV. INDOOR SPACE: Updated cabin with renovated kitchen and bathroom. Working fireplace. Washer/dryer in detached garage, where there is a second fridge and a freezer. Contemporary art collected over decades. OUTDOOR: Charming pond and grassy expanse across the dirt road, all bordered by a creek. Stone terrace in side yard with a gas grill/ gazebo adjacent to terrace for sitting outside during a Summer rain. A screened-in porch offers additional protection from the elements. KITCHEN: Equipped with what you need to make a complete meal (minus the ingredients!). There is a microwave but no oven. GENERAL: Linens & towels, toiletries, washer/dryer, air conditioning/heating system. PARKING: Driveway with plenty of room for multiple vehicles. GUEST ACCESS: A code is all you will need to access the house, provided upon booking. Entire house Conveniently located: *15 minutes to LegoLand (opening 2021) *beautiful brunches & dinners 5 minutes away at Blooming Hill Farm *Storm King Art Center, 10 minutes to the East *West Point, 25 minutes away Hiking trails: Black Rock Forest - use trailheads from the Route 32 side Stewart Forest - best gravel riding around Schunemunk Preserve - use Otterkill Rd trailhead at the viaduct Goosepond Mountain State Park Appalachian Trail - From south of Monroe, possible to section hike the AT, north up to Bear Mountain or south towards Wawrick Not much of a hike but the Orange County Arboretum is a lovely stroll.
