Cozy Melrose Mermaid Cottage

Cozy studio cottage in the historic area. Queen size bed, plus two twin beds. Nightly price includes up to 2 guests. Additional guests (adults or children, up to a total of 4) are $35 each. Please, no smoking anywhere on the property. The cottage is charming and whimsical and plenty cozy. It was built in 1955, so it is not a new dwelling. In some ways, it is a bit rustic with exposed ceiling beams, some Spanish-style primitive Mexican tiles and a raw painted cement floor. There is no carpet, but some area rugs brighten and warm up the place. The cottage has a 32" High-Definition ROKU smart TV, including a full cable line-up on Xfinity, Blu-Ray DVD player with a good selection of DVDs, Wi-Fi. 2 parking spaces. Keypad entry on front and back doors. Feel free to interact with us at any time if you need something. We will try to the best of our ability to accommodate you. We do live on the property so you will probably see us coming and going. Quiet, peaceful but yet walking distance to 4 restaurants and the Santa Fe Lake Park with swim beach and boat launch.....six acre pasture with little red barn behind cottage. Great bike riding or walking.......state parks for hiking also close by. Ocala National Forest, Juniper, Salt and Silver Springs are less than an hour away. Crescent Beach and St. Augustine are an hour and 15 minutes from Melrose. Gainesville is 18 miles away, and Jacksonville and its beaches are an hour and a half away. Disney is about 2 and a half hours away. Everything in Melrose is within walking distance.....4 restaurants, stores, PO, Library. Perfect place for riding bikes. Many rails-to-trails bike paths surround the area, The cottage has a limited kitchen. There is no full stove or oven but there is a electric single cooktop, microwave, crock pot, toaster oven, charcoal grill, and a tea and coffee pot. There is also a full-size refrigerator with freezer. (If you are a chef and are coming here to cook, you may be disappointed.)
