**Minimum Night Stay Requirements May Vary and Final Availability is Subject to Homeowner Approval.** ***Property may be rented once in any 31 day period.*** Shoshone Lodge is a handsome, gabled home in a spacious residential neighborhood just south of Jackson. A beautiful flat yard fringed by wild grasses aprons the house. This luxury Jackson Hole vacation rental feels wonderfully private and very grand, a small castle hidden in a copse of slender aspens. Shoshone Lodge’s arched front door opens into a two-story foyer, where a peeled log staircase curves up and away and an elk antler chandelier hangs from the double height ceiling. Straight ahead is the vaulted great room, which sets the tone of rustic opulence continued throughout the house. A massive, magnificent stone fireplace is fronted by a high-backed leather loveseat and chairs; the carved wood mantelpiece, giant candlesticks, and towering tree trunk supports all add to the air of western majesty. In the dining area, six upholstered chairs surround a polished table, and ornate draperies hang from branches. A stone-floored butler’s pantry adjoins the room. The office, as sophisticated and comfortable as Sherlock Holmes’ study, is just off the foyer. Leather armchairs and a fringed ottoman stand upon a zebra rug. Light from the stone fireplace flickers across the built-in bookcases and the window seat. The family room – a regal space in its own right - links the great room and the kitchen. Warm and welcoming in the extreme, deep leather sofas and hide-trimmed club chairs face a tall stone fireplace. A bay of huge windows frames the pretty yard. A flat screen television is mounted in a tall cabinet; doors close to hide the television when not in use. Shoshone Lodge’s luxurious, stone-floored kitchen has a huge center island topped in gleaming granite. Upholstered stools offer a perch for conversing with the family chef, sampling hors d’oeuvres and spreading out the morning paper. French doors beside the breakfast table open to the patio. A stone-framed door off of the great room leads to the master bedroom, a big, carpeted room with a high vaulted ceiling. A dramatic king size bed, with a red leather coverlet and piles of plush pillows, faces a chateau-style fireplace. The flat screen television mounted in a corner of the room can be seen from the bed and the sitting area as well. Shoshone Lodge has four grand guest bedrooms, all on the second floor of the property, connected by a loft-like walkway and small sitting area over the great room. Each bedroom is supremely comfortable, with soft carpeting, a big bed, a place to sit, and western décor. The first guest room has French doors leading to a private deck, and a walk-through closet, which leads to an en suite bathroom. A small anteroom makes an ideal, separate-but-connected spot for a crib. The second guest room has a king bed flanked by matching side tables, leather-shaded antler lamps and a pair of beautiful equine paintings. This room shares a bathroom with the upstairs game room. The third and fourth guest bedrooms both have queen beds, closets, and private bathrooms. Shoshone Lodge’s truly fabulous recreation room and home movie theater wait above the three-car garage. This is possibly the most popular spot in the house, a playroom for all ages, with a full size pool table, a game table, a stocked bar, deep couch, television, an ice cream freezer and even a cotton candy spinner. Double doors open to the home theater, where big, leather recliners face a simply enormous flat screen television, and a popcorn machine stands at the ready. Heavy drapes block the sun, and a state of the art sound system makes watching a movie as much experience as entertainment. A wide stone patio extends off of the back Shoshone Lodge, edged by a low stone wall. Adirondack chairs look out toward the shallow, smooth-running creek. There is a gas grill and an outdoor dining table on the patio for whiling away the long, golden summer nights of Jackson Hole, and a hot tub fine for any season and just about any weather.
