Farmhouse Refuge w/ hot tub in Historic Arthurdale
Welcome to your historic homestead retreat. Whether or not you're familiar with the story of Arthurdale, does not determine the satisfaction of walking along the fields and gardens, poking in the root cellar, or watching the leaves or snow fall. You can take in the sunset view from your suite before dinner while planning the next day's adventure. Make yourself at home; there's something for everyone here. Long-term renters are highly encouraged to check out the deep monthly discounts. Who wouldn't want to be here in the winter with a new hottub? I know I'll miss it! The living space includes the newly renovated kitchen, a laundry, and living room. This is a cozy yet unique situation for the right kind of person looking to enjoy a new and peaceful environment. The first floor of the house has an attached airbnb studio apartment with its own entrance/kitchen/bathroom which will be rented off and on. The hot tub is shared with them. I will be gone for the winter into spring so this space is usually a full time home and will feel like it, in a cozy way. You are welcome to walk through the fenced in garden area and down to the creek at the bottom of the field. House layout. It's a lot of space for one person, but it's what I'm looking for. The kitchen, laundry, dining, and living room are on the first floor. There are four rooms upstairs along with your bathroom. Your bedroom will have two twin beds, a desk, and closet. I will be out of town for some time, but have plenty of neighbors and friends to fill in if you need any help. It's a great place to explore by bike or on foot. There's a goat farm a bit down the road. Deckers Creek Rail Trail is a mile up Rt 92 for endless miles of biking or whatever movement you choose. My favorite is for x-c skiing. Be sure to check out the local food co-op at the historic Esso gas station, the museum, the historic tour, and all those other wholesome goodies. Be sure to check out Modern Homestead in Reedsville as the intersection of Rt 7 and 92. They have amazing baked goods, gifts, plants for sale, and of course coffee. They are also tremendous hosts if you need more room! The Cheat River is only 20 minutes away and offers world class kayaking, canoeing, swimming, and ok fishing;) I could go on for hours about that river. There's also the Fairfax Pond wildlife management area right in town that offers some nice woodland strolls. So much more, but I'll stop there. Foot, bike, public transit is the Buckwheat Express:)
